I was rewatching Koe no katachi today, and I couldn't help but notice how the cinematography placed an object, line or space to show a division in the characters and the way how the characters downward cast usually shows the feet or just avoid showing other people's faces by only showing their bodies. So yeah those were some of my favorite parts
Altough everyone seems to want to know what happens next, I for my part is satisfied with how they ended it. Shouya reconciled with all his friends and has a now more strong than ever bond with shoko. The most obvious reason to make a second one would be because we don't have much closure with their love relationship and even then I disagree. They don't need a second movie to tell us that they're going out because there are plenty of hints leading to that conclusion, with shoko having confessed (although the message didn't get across). But having them going out maybe isn't the right choice after all. At the bridge scene, Shouya tells shoko that he wants her to help him live, making the relationship something beyond normal love. I think that they have a relationship that transcends the ordinary and they should leave it like that, for the sake of ruining a film that I think doesn't need to be added on.
I’m glad they didn’t date because let’s be real, the film works the best for introverted/lonely young adults, they probably wouldn’t be able to connect with them as much at the end if they were also a couple.
