I've trained and rode horses all my life. This is a type of competition you put together at the end of a 12wk summer riding program, not after a few days of bare minimum training. I have no problem with them doing an obstacle coarse or riding horses, but it needs to be done at their level! Everything they did should have been at a walk, except maybe the trot poles ( I think a small trot on a straight line isn't hard for a beginner to do). The rest of it, you can see how disorganized their seats are, Da Young more than Kenta. Their standing on their toes, legs shoved forward, shoulders slouched, hands high. If their horse so much as stumbles, they're going straight into the dirt. They also both rely heavily on their hands and the horses mouth for turning and stopping and because of it, you can see the inconsistency in speed throughout the coarse. So many things can go wrong with new riders when they don't have full control, especially when adding speed. It should have been solely skill based and the riders should have been able to go at their own pace. Kenta was a bit more chill, but I think most of that came from the horse. Da Young was rushing and her horse responded to that, especially when it picked up a canter. I'm glad nothing bad happened, but I really don't think they should have this in ISAC.....
Please isac don’t do this again next year, horses are really sensitive and they only get a few days to learn, they are not ready for these kind of things as this, either horse or rider can get hurt easily
based off what comments I’ve read so far, the idols don’t know how to handle the horses especially with the time they have to practice with their busy idol lives. what if they suddenly lose control or their horse is stressed out? it’s possible so someone could easily get hurt.
I love how many different sports there are in isac but honestly they should scratch the horse riding, I mean this isn't really horse riding, it's just trying to complete the course in the shortest time, regardless of how skilled the idols are It would be more interesting and fair if they trained to do dressage instead
I believe that this should end but with a different reason. I think they should end this because it is just dangerous overall not because of what they are doing isnt horse back riding. If you know your shit about horse back riding that is clearly a trail class, and as someone who does trail im pretty damn offended. There are so many more sports than just show jumping and dressage!
thats why i couldnt see the video where haknyeon has 100 but i just saw it from the boyz compilation or something but im watching the isac 2020 right now cuz wanted to watch it so bad
Tbh they should only let those idols who know horse riding prior to this competition . I mean how can you expect someone with a couple of days of training to do this ? Dayoung position wasnt right and she was hurting the horse by pulling its mouth ( not her fault ) . Only properly trained ones should be allowed in this competition. Sorry but horses are sensitive even though it's strong .
@@Hyp3rBee its kinda hard to just walk away when its a safety hazard as horses can be incredibly dangerous and this is just an accident waiting to happen
@@Hyp3rBee But their position in the saddle is terrible. That girl is literally hanging on the reins, her heel is still up, back is not straight like it should be. If they are beginners they m u s t practise more on the lunge line with a coach who will correct them to give them better balance and confidence. I'm riding more than 12 years, but still, I appreciate when someone is asking me to take me on the lunge line and lead my horse. Then I just try my balance and exercising. Also, horses are sensitive on sudden moves and then they can just jump away and gallop what is dangerous for riders if they have problems now and it's easy to see that they are not confident during riding. These horses are this type which I like, will forgive you all mistakes, will not taste you to try not to do some turn or something and bring you to the target safe. Calm and nice horses-professors. But it's still a horse, can be scared easy and the accident is coming.
I hate to say it but she really doesn’t. She’s great for a beginner who has probably had very little instruction but no where near a pro, that takes many years even for the most naturally talented equestrians. I’m sure she could be amazing in the future, but not right now
Isn't it dangerous? Both dayoung and the horse would be hurt since she's not a professional and horses or maybe all of animals could be really sensitive and unpredictable. I get anxious while watching this match. Good thing they finished it very well
I’m sorry to say this but this girl is constantly pulling on this horses mouth and it’s painful to watch. I’m not hating on her but I just don’t think that it’s right to let them ride horses only for competition. They’re just making it a really sad and painful experience for these horses. They could let them hold horses and do the competition from the ground.
or do it all at a walk and have it skill based, rather than timed. I feel like a lot of their mistakes would be resolved if they could think through each step and not be rushing. Da Young especially, you could tell she felt overwhelmed with making the time.
I don't want to be the equestrian Karen here, but I don't think that this is a good sport to be at a show like ISAC. Look, I understand that this is an entertainment show, where people want to see their favorite idols doing something different from their normal idol life, but unless the idols who participate are not trained for a few years and have a good amount of experiences in riding a horse, then they should not compete. These idols got only a few weeks of basic riding lessons for beginners and even though many of them are not hurting the horses as much as they could, they are still far away from being skilled enough to do this. This sport includes real animals. No one cares if idols mess up in football, running, etc. (if they don't seriously injure themselves), but they can seriously hurt themselves (in a nastier way - concussion, broken ribs, spine..) and the horse in this segment just because they only got a few weeks of training to "entertain their fans" on day-D of filming this. Maybe it is just me riding in a professional stable with harsh trainers, but when I started, they didn't let me trot nor lope until I had a perfect steady posture (straight back, hands glued to the front of the saddle - pommel, not riding with them in the air, stirrups on the tip of your feet, heels facing down, "squeezing" the horse, not kicking him...) and was confident with handling the horse in every mood while the horse was only walking. Even these school horses who are used to being ridden by the beginners and kids can lose their temper and I can tell you that none of these idols would handle them if they did so = it just makes my blood boil when people don't understand that this is not a sport everyone can do after a few weeks of training.
