Amazing to see someone on YT give love to Donkeyboy. And this was a medley of theyr first 2 breakthrough songs in Norway and then in several European countries following,at the Norwegian Grammies in 2009(Thats basically what Spellemannprisen would mean to any American/Canadian). This was the year they won the award for best newcomer in as well (funfact!) Now you get why they bring Donkey Kong with them,its part of theyr name. Only to avoid copyright issues they turned theyr name into DonkeyBOY instead of DonkeyKONG. (Nintendo would sue the *bleep* out of them lol) But here is the backstory,they are a modern band from Drammen,Norway. Drammen lays right next to Oslo pretty much. Theyr inspiration is basically anything 80s,maybe even early 90s. And you can easily tell from theyr synth sound. They bring back the 80s in a modern suit. And of course theese guys grew up with games like Donkey Kong,Super Mario etc,so the name was pretty easy for them.

Donkeyboy - City Boy, Pull of The Eye & Silver Moon (Live VG-Lista 2012) (HD) You get 3 of theyr other hits packed into 1 performance.
VG Lista is a concert show that happens annually every summer at the town hall square in Oslo,and the entrance is free. Wich makes the crowd go up to 80-100 000 people. You can see people as far as the eye can see basically. Its run by VG,Norways biggest newspaper. Theyr idea is to bring people together for the love of music,they make sure any artist they invite gets compensated for the travel cost and such. Most artists invited has accepted as they see it as a major PR boost to be invited,and they love the idea behind the concerts. Sadly only the pandemic put a stop to a impressive streak of concerts over 25 years,but luckily it returned in 2022 after 3 years of "corona alternatives" (They would invite a lucky few to a remote location to experience live artists,just ask if you want me to tell you some suggestions from theese remote recorded shows). Fat Joe and his Terror Squad has been there,B.o.B,Chris Medina,Lissie and several other American and Canadian artists over the years,as well as from other countries.
