I was fortunate to see the Toronto optimist, in the mid or late 50, or early 1960s. The first time I witness them in person was at the preview of Champions in Roosevelt Stadium New Jersey. I thought they were an outstanding Corps from Canada. I had several recordings of them cama on LP records from, Stetson d-richmond oh, may he rest in peace. It would sell them at many competitions on the East Coast. If I remember correctly they were approximately $2 or recording. Sometimes you would look out and get the partial recording on the back side Kama of some other Corps. Former member of the Floyd Bennett golden eagles 1960 and 1961, former member of the Long Island Sunrise has 1964 through 1968. Today's date is April 20th 2022. Thank you for the Post enjoyed the slideshow was great.
In my opinion, when Optimus came to the United States to compete oh, they never received the credit that was due them by the judges.

Adding to previous post: it appears that Mag Yankees and Appalachin Grenadiers have their results in their hands and ST Johns and St Catherines have theirs as well, but we cant see them . Sacs DM (Gene LaRocca ?) is striding up to receive his 2nd place papers and Opti is waiting on his for 1st place champion . Interesting. They say pictures tell a million words .
