I'm diy enthusiastic and I am so glad for Vasaline as an alternative to other glues! I have a little that came with a chunky set, but I didn't know what to use afterwards, and if it was even the best for paint... I tested it today and it's okay but Vasaline is well tolerated by most everyone so a little tub is going in my kit. My startup kit is complete, except for the two angle brushes you use, I'm buying next month! It's wonderful, starting at face painting, and I am learning so much from you! Thank you! I'm stoked!
Well, that is very kind of you but everyone has different ways of doing things so you never know what you'll pick up by watching lots of different people. Of course, I'm flattered though. 😘
Just love your teaching style and your willingness to share your tips and tools. This video answered so many questions for me. I would love to see you discuss how you hold your canvas when painting to keep them from wiggling and any other tips you can share about ‘canvases’ 😉
Hey Ariel .big fan . Do you have any tips for face painting in the summer? I did a party yesterday and it was really hot for the paint to stay. Should I invest in waterproof paint?
Since watching Ariel, I have found that working with powders, laying down a base or the background colours during really warm days helps keep the paint on top last longer and does not "melt" on faces.
Hey Ariel! When you mix your own chunky glitter mixes, do you always use the Global glitter gel? I have been using the Global Chunky Glitter Gel Base and I can only mix up very small amounts because if I don’t use it all at a function, it dries hard and I have to throw it out. I hate the waste. I’ve tried adding more gel base, however the chunky glitter pieces don’t seem to separate as well and I can’t get my desired consistency or coverage with the mix. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks 🙂
I just watched your guide for beginners and want to start with the 5 brushes you recommend. i love your videos and am new to face painting and your channel. Is the face painting shop the same as silly farm? I tried to find the five brushes you recommend for beginners in your shop on amazon
Love love love the glitters thank you for the demo ,I can't wait to try the glitter cream it's on the way from silly farm ,the only thing for me is the cost of shipping to Ireland
This is random, but your hair looks fabulous. Love the highlights. Just wanted to say that Vivid is so much more about the loose chunky glitter blends than the gels. Jackie mixes the gels to order, so the levels of wetness on that will vary, but Vivid recommends using a glitter glue or balm to adhere the loose glitter. Orion is pronounced “Oh Ryan” if that helps. Proud of you re: the website! It’s not easy creating those and getting them up and running and you’re smashing it!
oh my goodness, I'm such a doofus, of course, it's "oh Ryan". Hahaha! Been a while since I had astronomy class 😁 And thanks, it's a big change and some days I'm not sure I like it. You're so sweet to comment on my video. So glad I know you.
Thank you again for sharing such fabulous information. You explain things so well and provide examples which I am sure helps myself and others greatly.
I juuuuuuust started and used my first split cakes this week. Game changer, for sure. I've got a question about the glitter. I was watching people make their own split cakes and got to wondering if glitter can be worked into the paint directly or does it not pick up well?
No, the only thing I can think of is paint that is already shimmer...but I think if you tried to work it into paint it would be inconsistent and not work the way you wanted it to.
Hi I love your videos. I need to buy the 5 brushes you mention in an earlier video to get started but I cannot find the link or the brushes. I believe you said Paint Brush Shop which I cannot find on amazon
When I paint inside a clients home I am nervous to use my glitter sprayer. Has anyone ever gotten negative feedback from clients about glitter mess? I have switched to chunky glitter for fear of being messy.
I used to ask if it was ok but every single person always said yes so now I don’t bother. I used to say “is glitter ok? Sometimes I leave a bit behind.” And I always got a “oh yes, that’s fine”

What if you applied a bit of vaseline then add the gel glitter.
You could use vaseline if you really wanted it to stick but I don't think it's necessary.
where can you get the global glitter gel like that? I am not finding it anywhere
I purchased it from The Facepainting shop in the UK.
im looking for the large tubs of chunky glitter from gypsy shrine...but im not seeing them! Do i have to call their customer service to buy them??
Hi, not sure if you were the one who messaged me on facebook. I found them on the website.
My jar of "Festival Glitter" is drying out. Wondering if ordering some glitter gel will save it.
I use glitter gel in mine but have heard distilled water works too. Haven’t tried it but have seen a few people suggest it.
I can't find those spritzer bottles with the nozzles for the life of me. Do you have a link?
sure, here are some...there are many different kinds. amzn.to/2YFNWGx If you google spray glitter bottle you should find more.
How would you design look like for a teenager with only the glittergels? Can you show in a new video? Thnx!
Check out my Pixie paint video. That will give you a few ideas.
Where can I purchase the spray bottle with the nozzle?
I did put the link below the video. You can get them on amazon or go to one of the online shops.
Thank you
