I collect Barbie, Monster High, Ever After High, Rainbow High, LOL OMG, Na Na Na Surprise, Disney Princess Dolls and so many more! I love fashion dolls and I believe that dolls are the best toys for people to improve empathy and to explore their creativity!

I know it’s 2023 and times have changed blah blah blah BUT $50.00 for these dolls is ridiculous. You can’t tell me the brunette in the pink basic pantsuit is worth 50? All because she has buttons and striped pants with colored shoes? She should be about $30. They have cheap made to move bodies and plastic jewelry. That being said, I do love the Disco one. She’s very pretty!
i agree i know it's been 15 years but they were able to make real stitches on the season 1 bloom winx A PLAYLINE doll that comes with 2 outfits a cd bags shoes and wings but cant even do real stitches on the new barbie western doll for 50 dollars

Well you’re more so paying for the name and the brand.. you have to take in account that’s probably worth $25/$30 in itself.

Love these but not the price point for the quality and not a made to move body.
However I'm excited for the movie..it reminds me of how as girls growing up the peer pressure to put childish things in the past like the girl said ' we haven't played with barbie since we were 5.' why that age? Barbie is not age specific and I hope they put that across in the movie that barbie can be for everyone not just little girls.
I get to see the movie for work and I can't wait.

To me, the gold jumpsuit doll is the best of the line. I really love that one.
Not sure when you filmed this but America has described her character as someone who works at Mattel low in the corporate ladder who loves Barbie and is trying to reconnect with her teenage daughter

I agree, but if you look at the other $50 dollar barbies . I think they match the price point quality but I agree that she should’ve been $35 or something like that. It’s a disappointment other doll lines offer more for $50.

I wish that the play packs and fashions didn't always include a doll. Then you gave umpteen dolls when you already have personalities for the ones you have. I loved being a girl in the early 70s and the catalog would come out with the yearly clothes and they were such qualiry. Not paper and plastic feeling and only printed on the front.
I read that book. It was intense. I was in my 30s and have niece's. It was relatable. I wonder how that is being mixed into the Barbie movie. Very interesting. Can't wait to see the movie. Hugs to you.
I was NOT planning on getting the Gloria doll, but after seeing those shoes I might have to get her just for the shoes & outfit...😜
You might want to check Target stores & Barnes & Noble book stores (if you have them where you are) they have the dolls for $25.00...
Also the Disco Barbie is so cool, I can't waiti until she's in my local (Seattle) stores...

The prices are so high, I can't justify to pay that much for dolls.

For those complaining about the price point of the dolls. I hear you. Unfortunately, Mattel the company is no dummy. They know that people.. whether they are happy with everything about the dolls or not, will pay the $50. Yes, they are Barbie dolls but that’s not what you’re actually paying for. You’re paying for the NAMES and who the dolls represent in the movie, which is Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, etc. It doesn’t matter to Mattel if the dolls are not “made to move“ or whatever else. The promotion on this whole entire entity has been huge so far, people are already hooked so they are going to buy. Expect to see Barbie EVERYTHING soon if you haven’t already.

Okay but i went to target yesterday to get some groceries and decided to go to the doll isle as a 30 year old 😂 and I was shocked at how expensive dolls have gotten . Like to get a decent doll it’s like 25-30 dollars 😬.

No, they’re all the same size. There’s no difference in size between the ‘perfect day’ doll & other “deluxe” barbies in the collection
I am not good at styling Barbie's hair but I HATED how much product was in these doll's hair. all I did was wash them and now the hair is so pretty and fun and easy to brush they just need some warm water to dry.

Greta did a video recently I saw on RUclips sharing all the films that influenced Barbie I have a huge soft spot for Greta she’s from my city highly recommend to watch her Lady Bird movie. Gloria is my fav of the Barbie’s released so far. My must have is Kate McKinnons Barbie 😂😉🤗🩷

The disco Barbie is a reimagining of Golden Dream Barbie ( I think she was released in 1982) very similar styling . I can’t really comment on the price - I bought perfect day and surfer Ken for 24.99 each….. and yes to Melissa’s point I am buying the fashion packs not all the additional dolls. Back to our children: I cry every day once the kids go to bed because I cannot fathom this tangled mess of a world and how am I going to make any sense of it to my kids? I’m trying and I guess that’s what is important. I’m flooding my kids with hugs kisses brownies and rice crispy treats ♥️
