I started following you when the pandemic began; this is when I started art journaling. I have learned so much from you, not just about art, but watching you with you little ones growing up. It is a difficult thing when parents grow old and become ill. I lost my mom last October. Your art and talking was very touching. Thank you for sharing.

I'm moving from the states to Canada (brrrr) to be with my son. Time is precious and we both want this opportunity for quality time after losing his father, and me not being a spring chicken. I want his attention while I am still well enough to make good memories.
So glad you were able to travel to take care of your family. So proud of. you for prioritizing family above business, but still in all of that, to make time to take care of yourself and do what feeds your soul. I'm glad you are back!

I enjoyed your video this morning. I found that while caring for my Mom Art Journaling became a very important outlet for my heart and soul. I have been cleaning up and rearranging things in my Art Room these past few days and am revisiting some of my Journals and Scribbles. I am amazed how much I have accumulated. It is a journey. My Mom lived right next door to me yet At times I felt she was in another world away. Art does soothe my mind and promotes a softer version of reality.

We live here in Norway, and my family is in Greece. I haven't had much time for art lately. I truly enjoyed this video. The art and the update on you and your family...always from the heart! What's not to love about that! I love the simplicity of the watercolor washes and the ink lines as well as the extra pops of color. I am going to clear my art desk so that I can just sit down and enjoy a few minutes of art time when I have it...and when I don't have the time...I need to take a look at my time management! Life is just getting shorter every day!

There is nothing more important than sharing time and love with your family. However It is restorative to concentrate on your art when possible such beautiful creations appear when there is no plan. Thank you for being so brave and opening up about what is going on with your family. It’s so hard to be so vulnerable and let people in. That’s what our souls need to be able to heal and to go through hard times. I hope you found some peace in telling your story. I know that this is from two weeks ago so I hope your mother-in-law is healed and is home.
This turned out so lovely!! I have been trying to find a way to loosen up and forget about trying to paint something and instead just paint, you did just that. you just put colors on the page and where they made shapes you gave them a simple outline and painted in some simple leaves and I just find this so gorgeous.
I am currently working on a hydrangea painting and it’s so tedious and I keep finding myself holding my breath and hunching my shoulders and clenching my jaw and that is the exact opposite of what I need to be doing right now. so I’m going to try to just put some paint on paper and not paint anything in particular. Maybe I’ll come back to this hydrangea painting… or maybe I won’t either way, thank you for the inspiration.

Ive been experimenting with the dot flowers and dot butterflies. Today i doodled out some dragonflies. I love that technique and for real i think art is a special kind of magic, one that we can share or keep private. Art is a gift. To each other. To ourselves. Im a newbie to your channel. Im from Canada and live 5 countries away in Panama SA. I totally understand how hard it is to be away when family is in crisis. The art work was amazing. Love your color choices. You have a very comforting way of talking. And it's easy to hear that your words came from your heart. I think alot of people don't think about the end of a life. Life's only certainty is death. Caring for any person who is nearing death is difficult, and the closer they are to you the more difficult it becomes ❤

Be gentle with yourself. I was on the other end, caregiver for my mother-in-law, then father-in-law, then my mother and finally my husband. I lost them one by one over 5 years. The visits from family from afar was always cherished. We laughed and cried together and didn’t feel alone. I felt blessed to be there everyday and cried for those that didn’t get to sit by the bed and hold the hands. You are living a tough part of life now - prayers for your peace 🙏💖

It's so very difficult to face the end of a parent's life here on earth. Yes, we know they are going to their next destination, but it hurts in our hearts and in our minds. You and your husband gave an amazing gift by visiting for such a long time, and for sharing with his mom and his family the love that you have for them. I am in the same situation as you are Martha. I am from the Netherlands but but are living in Sweden. But when we decided to leave the Country the most of my friends and our family has cut me out of their lifes.. Coming across your video and subject matter is incredibly timely. I live in France and all my family live in England. I have been worrying a lot too the last few days as my poor 90 year old dad fell and didn't have the strength to get up 3 days ago. I am very lucky that my brother is not far away but I feel helpless as 'his little girl' without a solution. I feel his winter time is coming.
