  • China has changed massively since 1978. And yet it remains recognisably China. In 20 years’ time it will again be profoundly different from what it is now. Yet it will still be recognisably China. In this talk in Guangzhou, Martin Jacques asks what is the secret to China’s extraordinary continuity.

I don’t feel sorry for anyone. the Chinese Government cut off money flow to these Developers 14 years ago
I would like my Government to cover any losses I took on Stock, Bond or Real Estate Investments I have made in the past
      👇
Huge Price Cuts Rumored From Chinese Developers Due To Collapsing Demand
Vincent Fernando, CFA May 29, 2010
Demand is falling since China's central government announced stricter regulations for property transactions during the middle of April. These involve higher down payments and mortgage rates for the purchase of second home, and act which is seen as potential speculation. Such tightening is reducing buying demand.
Thus a moderately bearish view is that property prices need to come down, since demand is likely down yet supply is the same. This challenge isn't limited to Shanghai:
China Vanke Co, the country's largest publicly listed developer, may cut apartment prices by 10 to 30 percent within three months, the Beijing News said yesterday, citing an unidentified sales agent. Local Vanke officials declined to comment yesterday.
Yet Shanghai is where things could get the ugliest, the earliest. This is because the local Shanghai government is planning to clamp down on speculation even harder than China's central government already has:
Chen Qiwei, a spokesman for the Shanghai municipal government, did not preclude the possibility of levying property tax when asked about this issue at a press conference on Friday.
"Shanghai will take more strict measures in line with the central government policy," Chen said, adding that more efforts will be made in building economically affordable houses and cracking down on speculative house purchasing.
Other cities such as Beijing, Chongqing, and Shenzen could have similar additional taxes, but Shanghai is the first to make an official comment such as above according to China Daily. Thing is, any action from Shanghai will likely need approval from the central government.

Thank you again Prof Jacques for your continuous confidence in China’s positive development. Your observations and understanding of China as a civilization is crucial! China’s dna has longed been shaped by its civilization of tragedies, dynastic power struggles, survival, hard work, inventiveness, pragmatism, philosophical influences, literature /cultural /traditions of humanness! China has had a very long history.
China’s psyche is a deep one, an intelligent one and reflective one! Its taken me many years to try to understand why i can’t shake off China despite the fact i have lived in the west for at least 50 years! Modern communist/ socialist China has made me proud as a descendant of the Yellow Emperor, of the dragon, of the Tao . The determination of the revolutionary heros to stand up for its people and to succeed in mastering sovereignty is incredibly remarkable. The lessons of the past are hard learned ones! China is now embarking on forwardness in green traditions ! Prof Jacques is right, China will always be China!

China is a behemoth that is moving at gathering speed after a long pause of a century or more. It has a momentum of its own that nothing can stop or prevent its movement or trajectory give or take a few degrees or some changes in its speed. Eventually after about 300 years it may come to a halt again due to various factors, internal and external. In the meantime until then, China will continue to move forward and bring the whole world along with it on the road to a better future for all.

That’s because China does not play ball with the west so they are the bad guys/ boogeyman
I can easily show you how brainwashed we are in the West
MSM will tell you China is crashing with its current “debt load”
But that Chinese debt is mostly Internal debt
Where they have little external sovereign debt
2.3 trillion, which they can pay off with just their FX reserves alone
And hide the rest of their internal debt
But notice how when they do the China debt vs US debt comparisons
They will lump all the Chinese debt in together
But they will take great pains to a separate the US 34 trillion in external sovereign debt
And leave out the US internal debt, where most of that debt they can sweep under the table just like China has done
If they were to include US internal debt with that 34 trillion US external sovereign debt figure
The USA would have, 566 trillion US debt in total
As you would have to include
3 trillion in Local and State debt
Non Financial Corporate debt 11 trillion
      Personal/Household debt of 17.5 trillion
      Corporate debt securities 23 trillion
      SS liability 26 trillion
      Medicare Liability 40 trillion
      TooBigTooFail Investment banks
Derivatives Bets (notational value) 200 trillion
      Unfunded Liabilities 212 trillion
