The Melba Taylor/Safety First segment of this show is an absolute joy to watch and listen to. It's really quite life-affirming. I've played it dozens of times in the last couple of weeks and I don't think I'll ever tire of it. While Safety seems a very engaging chap with a good sense of humour, it's Melba who steals the show. Her interaction with Groucho and George is so funny and very endearing. She comes across as a really lovely person inside and out. I love her mannerisms and the way she speaks too...the accent is familiar but I can't place it (I'm not an American). As if all that wasn't enough, she also plays the trombone, tells a joke and nails all the questions! I suppose Melba will almost certainly have passed on by now. She didn't want to be a "nobody", so it's great that, thanks to the internet, she's achieved a sort of immortality and I'm sure she'll still be enhancing people's lives for many, many years to come.
Melba was an absolute doll. She told that joke on live TV like a total pro. And oh! the look on her face when Groucho asked for a trombone. But then...she played it! I'm a pro trombonist, but I've never played a solo on national TV. HAHA. And then...her going weak kneed over Fenniman. Priceless.
Melba made me cry thinking of my mom! "I'm not good at anything but I've just got to do something" then proceeds to tell a joke, play music, and absolutely kills the audience. Groucho too had me laughing through the tears!
Danny Weil eventually became a world renowned sailor. He was co-founder of the Yasme Foundation. He was the first to transmit radio signals from multiple locations, via sailboat. He lived a remarkable life.
Melba taylor is one of the most friendly person I ever seen , she is very nice, kind , sweet woman, we need more real ladies like Mrs Taylor, the world would be a heavenly place to live in if there were more beautiful people like Mrs. Melba taylor , Jesus bless you.
"Mrs. Smith... I see here on your card that you have 13 children. How do you account for that?" "Well... Groucho, I love my husband." "Well, I love my cigar but I take it out of my mouth once in awhile." Groucho Marx - absolutely One of a Kind.
Melba has become one of my Favorite Guests on Groucho’s show!!
Five Stars. Hands down perhaps the finest segment ever. Everyone was utterly taken.......

Melba, what a gift. ❤ I feel like she gets no attention, happy to be around happy people on the show, play with the band. What a great personality

Nice! Appreciate that.
Great to know that. Danny really did a career change. He did speak at length about sailing.

Everybody taking part in the video is dead. Melba, Safety First, Groucho, the audience... etc. But it's such a moving video!
I wonder if Danny and that lovely lady contestant ever got together.

A great contestant , I wonder did she have any success with her lyric writing , only that would be a highly competitive field .
