It is gorgeous around the Grand Valley! I can't wait to explore more trails in the area.

That front tire squawking you hear (gear wind up) when your in Diff lock will cause wear to the cv's at an accelerated rate ! unless your having a go at a difficult obstacle, you should not have that engaged. Or if you can anticipate some wheel slip due to sand , mud, dirt or some other surface the tires can slide on this is not a good practice.

I just watched a video from LRO on gear windup. Good advice and thank you for pointing that out.

@@RoverLanding-Adventures Not a problem.. I have had my 94 range rover classic for over 10 years. I know every system and every part. I have completely overhauled/ restored nearly everything. One thing you should know, most people never do the maintenance these vehicles require. Get a service manual, look at the service regiment these have. the 100k service for my rig is 2 pages! And that is if they did the 25k 50k services already! I bet almost none of it was done to the extent it needs to be. They are fantastic vehicles. I use diff lock sparingly. I use it for the obstacles or conditions that require it, then it's back to un lock position. Think of it as a safety decision. If the going gets so rough you need the diff locked, it may be time to evaluate the road ahead. There is no other lever to move beyond center diff lock. Although I use it sometimes in high range on gravel or snowy roads. I mostly reserve it for serious traction events! Take care

@@johnkemple I've done my own work on D2's for 14 years. Worked on MGB's for 30+ and my Jaguars for 13. It's a very well maintained vehicle. In fact the one year old OEM CDL cable had gone out of adjustment on that run and had stuck on. I was able to use the old cable that I had saved from the previous year and use the link hardware from the new cable to put it back. Problem sorted. There is a post about it on the Instagram account.

@@RoverLanding-Adventures I stand corrected.. lol... I am glad mine does not use a cable. I removed the Viscous Borg Warner, and I put in a custom ordered Ashcroft LT230 in with the Ashcroft torque biased center diff. What a dream it is on the sand with tru-trac diffs front and rear combined with the newer older styled center diff. I cannot spin it on the sand. Good luck to you on your adventures!!
