My mate had a nightburner, it's a trip thinking back to the early 80s 🤣🙏 i was bmx bonkers, I always remember my mum saying "why do you want to change everything" I said it's what we do 🤣 on my superburner, first thing I needed were skyway mags 🙏🇬🇧👍
It's a wicked nostalgia trip these days 😊.I love customising my riders and swapping out bits. A lot of people seem to want survivors in factory spec at the minute; a few years back everyone was doing immaculate restorations to make them look like new, it's funny how tastes change.
@@vespamorelli7090 Thank you, it was a labour of love this one. I love the Night Burners. Jonathon Butler at Midas Touch in Leeds is excellent for re-anodising. midastouchgb.co.uk
Hi nice job you do to my favourite bmx the night burner iv just got one that is in a bad state hopefully you can help me Where's the best place to get parts mate thanks Carl 😊
Hi Carl, welcome to the Burner party; it’s a slippery slope, I only wanted one and I’ve had about twenty now 😂😂😂 (although I’ve only got six at the moment - three that I ride and three projects. There are quite a few Facebook groups that are worth joining where parts are usually available - prices can vary quite a bit though so it’s wise to be patient - Raleigh Burner 80’s Icon, Raleigh Burner Enthusiasts, Raleigh Burner Life, Raleigh BMX, Chopper, Grifter Group, The Raleigh Burner Group, plus quite a few more. if you do a search for Raleigh Burner on Facebook Pages you find them. Also good resources are alansbmx.com/ (old school section), www.boydsbikes.com/, hopkinsoncycles.co.uk/, bankruptbikeparts.co.uk/. EBay is also a good place to look but prices can be very optimistic at times, again it is best to be patient, plenty of bits pop up at reasonable prices too. For any painting/re-coating you have two options: Mark Ralph based in Shirebrook, Derbyshire at www.mrcreations.co.uk/ And Jon Butler based in Leeds at www.midastouchgb.co.uk/ Jon Butler is the only one who currently does the re-coat for the Night Burner (that’s where mine was done). Hope this helps you out mate 👍
Thank you 😊 I had mine done by Jonathan Butler at Midas Touch Powder Coaters near Leeds. Just to recoat the frame, forks, and bars with the Titanium Black Superchrome is about £150, but your chrome has to be in good condition. I had to have the forks and bars rechromed so it pushed the price up to just under £300.
I'm hoping to do a Raleigh roadie bike and 531C frame in this colour scheme.
Mint job mate, just picked up a mk2 super burner today which I am planning to restore
Thank you 😊
Enjoy your restoration, it’s a labour of love.
