Wow, I wish there was an official release of this song! This may be the first flash mob video I saw on RUclips around 2014!! I love how RUclips recommended this to me after so long.

We were actually working on a release of the track by itself, but t-mobile decided not to pursue it.
@@ShaiFishman Aw that's too bad. An official release would have been a beautiful touch to showcase all the hardwork the people have done to make this possible. Thank you for giving me a reason why it wasn't release, I can understand why T-Mobile didn't want to release it. However, it's still just as beautiful to watch the video. All the happiness you brought to people is so heartwarming. We really need flashmobs like this again.
The T-Mobile video from which all this rehearsal was the result is still one of the most emotionally moving events to view!

2 years on and it's still my favourite commercial ever!! Never fails to tear me up towards the end. I can only imagine what it would have been like to come home from a flight to that sort of welcome :')

Brilliant. I have worked in broadcast TV for over 30 years, this is a great example of what kind of professional expertise is behind the great things you see on the screen.

The more I re-watch this, the more nuance I see, which I attribute to the directors and the great editing not to mention the wonderful photography, the obviously terrific talent, the extensive pre-production, post-production and the incredible planning. Just got out of my strategic marketing class, and had to watch again that video the professor showed us. The T Mobile Welcome Back moved me and I had to see more about this commercial, that's how I ended up here. This is so powerful, really!
Truly one of the best and most inspiring ads ever created. Saved it as a favourite years ago and watch it anytime I need my spirits lifted or just want to smile from ear to ear from all the joy and happiness everyone brings to the performance. Not sure my friend in the UK appreciates it quite as much though. I text him a link to the video each time I'm coming for a visit and express my expectations for when I walk out of the door of customs in terminal 5! Thank you for creating such a wonderful video that has brought me a lot of joy.

Luv this video. The performers are supremely talented and the score is fantastic. The melodies are captivating. and beautiful. If only I new more adjectives I could clearly describe the music. I think I've re-watched this more than 30 times over past few months.

It was 2 months of pre-production and then two months in London for auditions, casting, rehearsals and then just one day of shooting :)

Who was the girl and guy who sang I knew you were waiting for me? Those two just topped it off for me!
The guy is Patrick Smyth and there are a few videos of performances of his on YT but not many. Also one of the singers for UK's Strictly Come Dancing tours
That version of the "Diva Dance" at around 1:58 after that guy beat boxed "Yeah!", made me want to hear the whole Swingle cover in its entirety, which was, of course, delivered EFFORTLESSLY, proving that yea, that song can indeed be sung without any virtual or digital modifications.
How many times was it actually performed that day to get the footage needed?

I was watching the T-Mobile vid. At time marker 2:27 in the T-Mobile Vid, at the beginning of "Welcome Home", is that Dianne Lee from Peters and Lee who originally sang the song in 1973?
Is Patrick Smyth the man who sang the line 'I still believe' from the song 'I Knew You Were Waiting For Me' in the advert that aired?
