It's good to know althea & Donna's hit - UPTOWN TOP RANKING done very well at the time of it's release and to this day. But there was another woman who had a hit with - STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU BOY - Marcia Aitken, which is on the identical riddim as Trinity's - THREE PIECE SUIT. Althea & Donna's hit is slightly re mixed, although still made at JOE GIBBS Recording studio.

I was a kid when this song was a banger. I even had some halter tops as females of all ages were wearing them.

I really loved that song and keep it in my playlist rotation. If the music world is a weird place, then the Jamaican music world is like The Twilight Zone. It would be nice if these two were being paid royalties concurrent with the true popularity and sales of this music. I highly doubt it but that would be a great topic. Many times, record companies know how to either inflate or deflate the sales numbers. If I were them, I would hire a good lawyer and accountant and then audit the books of anybody who sold hard wax. It’s not so easy to hide digital sales. God Bless both of these wonderful women.

Back then, the powers that be were still discriminating against Rastas and reggae music. Then, reggae music became a gold mine for Jamaica.
