But this isn't due to a genocide run, the player corrupted the game so this is the equivalent of the "dirty hacker ending"

you missed the part were he will never give up he can fight forever but his eye's and mouth will slowly melt as he attacks harming himself in the process. also vhs wouldn't die from 10hits not even 1000hits he's has DT he will just continue to refuse the person who made this game just got lazy and was like "lets break all the lore there is" and just made him die so the fangame would be possible not even a chara shot could kill him he has more health then normal sans

Close, the player controlling chara or frisk, hacked the game which corrupted sans files and therefore becomes aware that you hacked the game.

Vhs sans' lore is that youthe player hacked the game which glitched sans out (can be further seens from that one part where you just spawn the fight button)
Alright so I'm gonna explain as best I can what VHS!Sans is. So from what I know, The player got bored of the normal game. So they decided to use hacks on genocide (That's why in phase 3 you see /summon Fight Button v2). They kill sans over and over again in one hit. Because of the hacks, a glitch occurs and Sans is able to remember the resets. After thousands of resets he manages to open the file code somehow and he changes his stats and give himself hacks, This causes him to lose his humanity, but he still does it to stop the human. After this the normal genocide route plays out until the Sans fight, which you reacted to.
You just have to say that VHS is Snas.exe but more cool

VHS sans is legit normal sans but the player (hacker in this scenario) decided to tamper with Sans' code because they were tired of dealing with him all the time. Turns out sans said "fuck that" and decided to come back somehow
(im assuming because we still see sans even if the player REALLY hacks in Undertale)

Context: while the person who was playing the sans fight he thought it was to easy so he hacked the server and is glitched sans so now he’s hacked and now that he’s hacked he has control of the whole game and now he can’t even stop the game but the game broke.
The player hacked the game to the point that sans file gets corrupted and gains consciousness that the player is hacking
