🤔 The easiest 2000er in the Berchtesgaden Alps? The Schneibstein at 2276 meters.

Berchtesgaden Alps and the Watzmann, a dream backdrop for our first mountain adventure this year. Since we stayed overnight in the Carl von Stahl House of the Austrian Alpine Club, we were able to start the hike to the summit of the Schneibstein quite early in the morning.
The Schneibstein is considered the easiest 2000m peak in the Berchtesgaden Alps and is also easy to manage. However, there are a few challenging areas that need to be overcome. Not only narrow paths on steep passages, but also climbing areas require sure-footedness.
On our tour up to the Schneibstein in mid-May there were still a few snowfields that we had to cross. Grödel definitely makes sense and makes the tour a little more difficult.
The hike, i.e. the ascent and descent from the Carl von Stahl House to the summit and back, can be done in less than 4 hours with appropriate fitness and experience.
The views of the Jenner, then Watzmann and the surrounding mountains are unparalleled. And after the hike you can stop off at the Stahl Haus and fortify yourself with liquids and solids.
