Simple enough job,but could not crack the bottom 21mm bolt for trying. Tried heat & penetrating oil but it would not concede. Snapped a 21mm spanner in the process. So I'm now going to once I've made or brought a spring suppressor go in with a socket to crack it."A day of frustration, not through the lack of trying".
shame, you got it 99% right, but you FORGOT the most IMPORTANT part, with ALL new shocks , your supposed to prime them, 5-8 pumps, push em down, let them retract, repeat, then and ONLY then, will these shocks work correctly, don`t worry, most people forget to do this.................
Hiya, used this video today on changing a rear shock prepped me a treat and went smoothly very chuffed thanks
Lovely Job. Dead easy to understand. And you are teaching the "Young Lad" the tricks of the trade. Roger from Tipperary but living in Somerset.
Nice one mate, i didnt think it was safe to use a open spanner and a socket had the spring in the way, looks easy now! Get this shock sorted on my vrs
Just had new rear top mounts and shocks, but I can hear knocking/rattling, can bolt come loose?
will it be the same on a 2008 octavia hatchaback?? Just wondering about the limited space between the spring and the bottom bolt? thanks
