Absolutely stunning to watch everyone playing a hand in making something beautiful. Each one of them are artist. I don't have one of their swords just yet but I already thank them for their craftsmanship in what they do
And some say there isnt much work behind modern made katanas. Lol. Seeing this makes me proud of 2 things; 1. Owning several of these swords, and 2: proud of the employees hard work in the video.
99.99% are made from billet steel. Ironically the impurities in purchased billet will be several orders of magnitude less than steel made in a factory by these chaps. But it sells to a different audience. At the end of the day kids who are into ninja crap will pay through the nose for rubbish and are easily impressed. Middle class white boys from suburbia love wasting money on mystic eastern 'martial arts' junk.
Sounds like you're butthurt TBH. Why watch the videos if you are against people buying Katanas? And you say they are a scam, but its a weapon made to remove limbs and TBH, Im pretty sure one good swipe of the sword would remove any limb on your body with minimal resistance. Not everyone has 20k to buy an authentic shinken made in Japan.
@@bashkillszombies I own a tanto and a katana from the 17th century, bought and imported from Japan. and a couple of modern made ones. So much for your middle class White boy narrative.
bought a katana like this one in London Ontario a store called reliks swords and collectibles for $ 3041.99 (CAD) 2 years ago and its still like new today :)
Of course it is you dolt. It's a two year old piece of steel. You can buy a one cent spork from eBay made in Bangladesh that'll still be like new in two years. You also paid three times the sale price of the freakin' thing. So no wonder you're affirming your ridiculous purchase by trying to pretend that wasting that much on a piece of junk is worth it.
Grow a pair and buy a glock like a real man. This fetishization of the 'orient' by autistic white boys is on par with the 'mystical negro' bollocks. Although man do you guys get ripped off for your junk. Then again, the only thing a katana will protect you from is losing your virginity. :)
Citadel: you may be making fine swords and sell them for $2K+ but how come you couldn't dedicate a small budget to making a good movie with higher than 240p resolution about the process?! And even in those vids it is obvious you have workers in a far less than "acceptable" working conditions! Heck, they somehow create a masterpiece hand-made katana in a working conditions worse than a poor blacksmith in 15th century forging horseshoes somewhere in where now is the modern France! Shame on you, Citadel owners! Ridiculous!
With so many visible defects in the construction, visible welds, and lackluster blade it would take more than a bit of music and three Cambodian peasants in matching t-shirts to get me to part with that much cash for one. Although the general price of this appears to be around a grand, if you've paid more, enjoy that mark up. I've learnt very fast that all asian 'martial arts' weaponry is a massive con with huge mark ups because people who are 'into' that kinda stuff are usually massive saps.
BaSH PROMPT obviously you know nothing because who do you think adopted the Ghurka khukris? I even believe those are more efficient than any kitanas. BTW khukris are from Nepal, in Asia, heard of it?

Glad I purchased a Citadel Lotus Katana.
this is really beautiful katana
pretty cool how they actually use the jeweler's saw to cut out the tsuba instead of casting it

Sok Sabai. Wish I would have seen this before I went to Cambodia, I would have loved to come visit. Shoot some video, take photos and buy a katana.
I want a citadel katana so bad! Cas hanwei is going to start carrying some models. I need to save my lunch money for one!
+Scott Schneider I have one (the Ocean Blade #004) and it's nothing short of amazing!
