    This was fun! People asked questions I wanted to know too, and some I hadn't even thought of. I wouldn't do keto either, it's not good for me to be on an extreme restrictive diet given my history, plus my treatment is working. I got lucky with my friends too! I don't have a ton, but they've stuck around from even before I got sick. Super lucky to have them.

    Something I have learned as well is to take your physical health just as seriously. See specialists if needed, take into account your age and what you're predisposed to genetically, and develop a plan to improve your overall health and quality of life. This can help BIG time.

Thank you so much for answering my question-I love that your past self would believe & take advice from your current one, & that the current you would take advice from your future self if you could. I also really liked all the fantastic and insightful responses you gave to the rest of the questions. One of my favorite things you said was how you want to keep living because you only get so many years and you've got to make them count-that's such a true statement and a great outlook to have!

    Have you looked into or been suggested red light therapy before? I personally haven't been officially diagnosed with anything other than ADHD as a child (My school and my parents were/are confident that I have at least some sort of high functioning autism) but I've heard about red light therapy helping people who have had cognitive damage improve, notably even in people with parkinson's or with alzheimer's progression. I'm rather curious to see if it was something that you've gone through or been suggested to alleviate some of the problems that have cropped up.

    i've read studies that state the ketogenic diet increases all cause mortality and besides that, it just doesn't seem like a good idea to cut out the food group that is our body's main fuel source. it doesn't really seem sustainable long term either because of how restrictive it is.

    • @iank.8876

      The point of ketogenic diet is to have a different main fuel source. From carbohydrates to keto. Can you maybe link those studies?

    Meds are very imoortant. I decided to stop all my meds a couple months ago and my symptoms got really bad where i just recently did something stupid and ended up in the hospital. Im getting back on them now. So meds are very important. I went yrs with minimal symptoms while on meds. So i heard of that ketogenic diet and i thought it might work for me so thats one of the reasons i started to stop meds. Not a smart idea for me. What s the difference between psychotic break and psychotic symptoms

    • @beerillo
      @beerillo 6 месяцев назад

      A psychotic break means full blown psychosis, so you basically lose touch with reality completely and often don't even remember whatever you've done afterwards-> hospitalization needed.
      With psychotic symptoms you still have some insight and self control -> they may not show that much from the outside (still gotta keep your guard up tho, cause it's still possible to slip into a full blown psychosis at some point)

    Keto diet isn’t dangerous. It’s been a doctor recommended diet for diabetics and epileptics for over 50 years. It doesn’t work for everyone but for some people it works wonders.

    • @alexandermatthewsmusic

      I agree, I am 2 months into medical keto for schizophrenia. There's a lot of stigma about different therapies, Lauren from her channel "living well with schizophrenia" has used keto to great success but there's a lot of opposition in the comments section. I never thought any diet could have such a great effect but your body/ brain actually runs on different fuel. Still needs more research in the aid of schizophrenia eg but I feel better at the moment.

      The keto diet can be loaded with saturated fats that can wreck your cardiovascular system. Additionally, restrictive diets are dangerous for people with eating disorders. Keto is helpful for some people, but it's not always "safe."
