I love the modularity of this system!! I have a Gladiator NXT, my plan is to attach a GNX-SEM next to it, and then an FSM-GA above that with a GNX-MFH. Should be awesome!
@@JerBearTeo Just to be sure, you can connect it with a single USB cable directly to the computer and it will be virtually split if there is more than 8 axes?
@@virgo47 I assume you're asking if you can put 2 THQ modules onto 1 NXT base? I think the max per USB is 8 axes. I have my SEM setup with no axes active so its really a button box attached to the NXT base. I do not own a THQ module so I can't really say if you'll exceed the 8 axes per USB connection if you put 2 THQ units to 1 NXT base. I am totally sold on this setup, but I would like to have the two units placed about 60cm apart from each other. Will I have issues if I make the 3 wire cable longer?
Hello! I am following this guide, but it says the 3 pin end goes into the Gladiator, but I don't see any 3 pin connectors in the Gladiator, just 4 pins. Should I use the 4 pin to 4 pin cable also included instead?
This video is from 2 years ago and it looks like things have changed a bit. I too just got this joystick and module combo. The 3-pin connector goes into the 4-pin connector. However it will only engage 3 of the 4 pins. I tried connecting it with the bottom 3 pins of the 4 pin connector, and everything but one of the sliders worked. I'm not trying it with the top 3 pins to see if that corrects things. Also note, when you get to the configuration, the software is different now. The tabs the guy selects to get to the different settings are on the bottom of the UI. Hope this helps. I'll be back if I discover anything else in trying to get this to work in 2024.
A Reddit post on this shows that the 3 pin should go into the 3 left most pins on the 4 pin slot on the NXT. This will leave the right most pin exposed. Strangely undocumented….It matches up with the 4 pin side which really only has 3 wires on the left
Yes, but in this case you'll need to upgrade the THQ with a GNX HID Controller www.vkbcontrollers.com/products/gnx-usb-controller-hid-main Also, strongly suggested to find a way to attach it to some mounts or desk, as it's pretty light by itself.
Hello! I have recently bought the left-hand Gladiator and the THQ. I am struggling with the getting it to work as the 3pin/4pin connector is too small. Is there a way to do so?? I thought they were supposed to work together too :/
Both left and right hand Gladiators NXT would work in combination with SEM and THQ modules on either left or right side. If the cable is too short for you, then you're not using the right socket. Please come on our official forum, create a new thread and explain with photos the way you're trying to use the devices. forum.vkb-sim.pro/
With the latest software, if you pressed Yes to the popup showing up immediately after resetting to default there's no need to click that button anymore.
If i order this setup, should i then also order the set of coupler on your website, or does one coupler follow either the stick or the Throttle Quadrant?? 🙂
It's recommended. You can save your current profile, reflash, then load it back. I suggest not include the calibration into the profile, or at least recalibrate again after flashing and loading the profile.
What type of sensors are used in the throttle quadrant? I ask because I purchased “another brand” previously and have had an ongoing issue with the lack of accuracy of their x and y axis levers. I typically fly a fenix a320 in msfs, and my current throttle easily gets out of calibration and then goes into reverse thrust, as an example, when I am only cutting the throttle. Do these have any detents?
The THQ has pots (high quality, with no issues like the ones you mentioned). The Gladiator NXT/EVO has contactless MaRS sensors on pitch, roll and twist and pot on mini-throttle).
@@VKBSimhello there sir I hope you still reply to this, I want to ask if I can use this with other joystick because I'm in such a tight budget that I could only afford this for now.. Can I use this with logitech 3d extreme joystick along with thrustmaster pedal sir?

I'm confused about 8 axis per USB and virtual devices. I see one cable going from the joystick+THQ combo - is it how I can connect it into the computer directly? What is the purpose of the box on the table? Is it just a USB hub?
Windows limitation is of 8 axes and 128 buttons per device. To overcome this, our software is splitting the controller into multiple virtual controllers if these limitations are exceeded. For this particular build (NXT/EVO + THQ) there are 9 axes in total, so the 9th axis is moved to a virtual device. The box on the table is simply a USB hub.
@@VKBSim Sorry to bother you again, but I still don't get it. I'm just looking at GNX SEM description and it says: Not included - GNX USB Controller (HID-Main) Required when connecting GNX Modules directly to the PC via USB cable Required when the total amount of analog axes per GNX device combo exceeds eight; must be then directly connected to the PC via USB cable instead Does this mean, that if I have 7 axis configured for my Gladiator Kosmosima, I need to buy the module + the GNX USB Controller? I can't reconcile this info with the comment above mentioning the virtual devices.
@@virgo47 You could have up to 16 axes on any NXT module(s) connected to a Gladiator NXT or NXT EVO. You need the GNX HID Controller only if you want to plug NXT module(s) directly to USB.
Hey, the forums is giving me an error everytime I try to post, but I don't have a "FIND & AUTO CONFIG" button, and if I push the throttles to 100%, the input in the dev cfg (and in game) drops to 0, and if I pull the throttles back to 0, it spikes to the max input, 65000, and kicks in the afterburners / wep in game. Is this a calibration issue, or is this just an unfortunately faulty unit? the gladiator stick works amazing, so I had high hopes for the THQ, and am not ready to give up yet.
heya so nxt is without a throttle (tacical) and your reasoning in to sell the modules? I get that but at least show before your customers go to other outlets!!!!!!
I don't fully understand your comment, but, if that's what's your complain, there is a minithrottle on the body of the Gladiator NXT. The modules are extra, you don't have to buy them in order to use the Gladiator NXT.
the Gladiator NXT has a throttle axis in the base as well as two infinite wheels that can be used for landing gear and flaps. You don't need another module if you don't want it.
