It always existed from a long time, First time someone took it's name in his diary which he obviously got from the natives was in 7th century and over the centuries, Many Marathi writers, poets, Philosophers referred to it as Maharashtra as their own nation and the name Maharashtra itself translates to "The Great Nation", So, There's that.

As a north Indian girl, this is why I loved living in Maharashtra. People from my state MP are very sexist and kill unborn baby girls😢 meanwhile in Pune I saw female bus drivers and conductors and auto drivers ...also how Marathis have no dowry culture, how much people respect the bahu, unlike in my area where they treat her like slave, Marathis really treat her like grihalakshmi. Also Marathi men respect women a lot, no wonder maharashtra is so safe for girls. Jai Maharashtra ❤

Feels fortunate to have experienced this village life in 80s. After 1990 everything changed, everything became commercialized. Rani Laxmi bai, Ahilya bai Holkar, Rani Tarabai were queens of Maratha empire without their male counterparts. You would only see such things in some part of south as well but not in north india. I am a tamilan from Tamilnadu💪🏿..
I love marathi language and shivaji maharaj..
Maharashtra was a land of great warriors..
But recent times marathi land was dominated by other language peoples..
They are not only different in language as well as culture..
India is not a country.. It is a subcontinent.. We are not Indians.. We are the citizens of india..
Maharashtra was part of india so other language people settled easily in the state ( it is suitable for Tamilnadu and other states)..
The 2011 census only 68% of state's population are marathi peoples..
But the current time it was definitely below of 67 %..
Please stay awake my dear marathi brothers and sisters save your land, culture, traditional and language..

in that era maharashtra had 95% marathi population n now it has fallen to about 70% still majority but now many marathis are switching to hindi attracting a way greater non-marathis with whom marathis feel proud to talk in hindi they have started forgetting their mother tongue they r now feeling ashamed of marathi for no reason this should be reversed otherwise marathi will become a dead language. Remember marathi is still world's 17th most spoken language but still suffering from this scenarios.
