@@trip_the_deep Absolutely! Anything recorded by Takashi Kokubo is gold. The Body Is A Message of the Universe by Shiho Yabuki is also good. should be asleep is a RUclips channel that has a lot of solid Japanese Ambient and Environmental music if you want to check it out :)
Great video! I started my ambient vinyl collection recently and this was a great intro to the topic. Also digging the other music essays, congrats for the awesome job ;)
Thank you! I have been listening to more in this genre and also from related artists...so crazy how many different genres and movements have varying connections to YMO
I'll have to check out Green. I was recommended Music for Nine Post Cards by spotify and I really liked that album but I never looked for other albums by Hiroshi Yoshimura.
whats super crazy is it wasn't uncommon to hear this sort of ambient music in places like convenience stores, banks, malls, office lobbys...etc, at the time. I fully endorse our local businesses adopting these records as BGM 🎷
Green is one of my favorite albums. I'm glad Kankyo Ongaku is getting recognition today. Great video!
Thank you!! Are there any other albums that you would recommend?

Also, Meitei is a modern producer who seems to be heavily influenced by this movement. I highly recommend his album "Komachi"
