Is your file format vector (pdf, emf, svg, wmf etc) or is it bitmap (pictures, including pictures on/in PDF)?

After watching your tutorial, I give up Tikz and embrace Inkscape...

Would be a good idea to use a combination of TikZ and Inkscape
