Exactly the way Lucas has explained it in interviews -- and apparently there are other microscopic organisms -- the Whills -- that feed on the energy of the Force and the increasing Dark Side has "soured the milk", which is why they influence the midi-chlorians to restore balance, which is what Anakin is supposed to be. We see manifestations of the Whills in a Clone Wars season 6 Yoda story arc. And how the prophecy is fulfilled is determined by the fight between Qui-Gon and Darth Maul, which is why the music during that fight is called The Duel of Fates.
[edited to add] The crime of the whole thing is that he was going to go into further explanation of all this in the prequels AND sequels, but fan backlash against the idea of the midi-chlorians -- which he claims he had in mind all along but found no way to introduce the concept in the original trilogy -- resulted in him backing away from discussing it in the rest of the prequels (and Disney threw out his outlines for the sequel trilogy in favor of empty nostalgia and hollow action set pieces and pew pew pew zip zap action and none of his themes of all life working in symbiotic cooperation).

@@JMOReacts there's been a little bit of a reversal on Jar Jar, but not a lot
but I think generally the public has felt a little sorry for Ahmed Best, the actor playing/motion capturing Jar Jar....
which he did get to take on a new role within Star Wars in some of the recent live action stuff, I'm glad he's able to cash in on some of that Disney money. I don't like how much people intertwine actors and their characters.
Not saying that's what either of you are doing of course.

Really appreciate the support, I watched revenge of the sith today since I do 2 weeks early on patreon, I won’t spoil much of my reaction but I do really enjoy these movies, I think revenge might be my favorite of both trilogy’s
Revenge is super underrated
About the Sith, the Rule of Two states that there's always a Master and an Apprentice that will eventually take his place. Before that, the Sith were all kiĺing each other. It's a longer story, lol.
