    The beauty of the 6 panels is the extra detail you are able to get using the larger scope, great vid Simon thanks

    You could get more of the moom if you selected bin 2. Lower potential resolution of course but your seeing already limits that.

    Thanks for the video. I have the ASI Air Plus as well and want to try tis on the moon soon. Newbie question...did you polar align prior to slewing to Vega to plate solve?

    • @SimonsAstro
      @SimonsAstro  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi David and thanks for watching! I’m sure you’ll get on fine with your ASIAIR plus on the moon! If your rig is portable and you have to set up every time, then yes, polar align every time you set up! If, like me, your setup is permanent, then no, I haven’t polar aligned in 3 months! I do check it periodically though 👍
      Clear skies!

    Very interesting video Simon. I have a ASIAir Plus lying around for 1 year now. Just used it once. Just because of PA (60° slew leads to scope facing a wall). Anyways: interesting to see how to apply the device & software to imaging the moon. Very helpful walk-through mate! Beautiful final moon image. 👍🏼 Clear skies

    Привет. Хорошее видео и результат! Но можно было не включать лунную скорость, т.к. если вы наведетесь на Луну с помощью автоматического наведения скорость подберется сама. И так для любого объекта.

    Its too bad the ASIAir does not support a larger resolution so as to avoing having to to panel stitching. Would be much easier for LRGB mono.

      @SimonsAstro  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks for watching Rob, good point you make! The ASIAIR is a great piece of kit and I would highly recommend it to beginners, but it does have limitations, that’s why I’ve switched to Nina, to be able to open and close my observatory roof in a sequence! Clear skies👍

    Cheers Simon, this popped up just as I was looking for new content. Got the first like in.
    I use I.C.E. from Microsoft for stitching, which is free but is now hard to find. There is a YT video somewhere on how to find it.
    Also I noticed that ASI spell Lunar as "Luner" in the tracking rate menu. Strange.
