Twenty years ago I was talking to the person here in the US who made the reproduction radiale cylinder heads (made by PBS, then sold to Scuderia Topolino, then maybe Berni) and he mentioned the many design flaws. Worst is the intake valves, because the rocker arm contacts the valve stem at a very steep angle which causes a lot of wear. The solution would be to recess the valve spring seat and shorten the valve, so the rocker would contact it at 90 degrees when fully closed, but of course that would not be original spec and would be illegal for racing if anyone cared to look.
I love classic Abarth and Fiat cars, I'm big 600 and 1000TCR fan but I was wondering what was so special about hemospherical combustion chambers so TCR cars got their name after it?
