I am glad to report that I finally passed my UK Driving Practical Test for the first time with only 2 minors (1 for planning awareness, 1 for approach speed to junction while turning from 50mph road)!
Big thank you again to Roland for taking my nervous old self on a mock test which really reset my confidence halfway in my learning journey!
I was also lucky to have a really experienced coach/instructor and worked on my driving skills and gaps to the standard that it is now.
With the right instructors and advice, one could be a safe and confident driver even as a beginner.

22:16 - confession a few days after this filming I did scrape my instructor's front alloy really badly while going 1mph :/.

Nothing majorly wrong. Just needs to brush up on a few things and make them habit i.e checking mirrors, planning and anticipating.
Great video 👏🏼 Top tier editing. Thank you 😊

Out of curiosity would driving in unfamiliar areas actually highlight weaknesses more than if she drove in her local area or just the same. In an area you dont know its easy to forget to look around you when you are looking say for that junction etc and the mind forgets about whats around. The thing is when driving in areas you dont know the thinking should be check what's about then look for the junction etc. Ok found it, check again whats happening around whats changed . Instead of thinking where the junction where's the junction oh found it . Whilst doing that a beard of buffalo have just walked past and you didn't know about it. . Its good she drove outside her comfort zone and probably has helped her a lot

I think driving in unfamiliar areas would test whether panic is obstructing decision making. The skill part will need some practice.

It’s definitely a benefit to put yourself outside your comfort zone. Especially as it confirms you are possibly more capable than you think you are! Anyone can make mistakes, especially at a complex junctions. Rather it’s more about whether your core skill as a driver are intact. Control/awareness/risk assessment. Bel did great. A bit of work to do but she’ll smash it soon I’m sure!

@GetWheelDriving yeah the other day there area I didn't know. At a roundabout approaching in the left lane then the sat nav said 5th exit . Managed too move over 1 lane to the right to the middle. Then while waiting at the lights took the time to asses my options. 2 car behind in the lane I want so I'm going to let them go past then move over as it's clear. Then the next thin I had lost what number exit was 5 . So at another set of lights take the time to work out what road I need on the sat nav then look for road markings and signs. Not perfect but all done safely and making sure I can do . If I could not have done safely it would have been good the wrong way . To me driving isn't about doing everything perfect but more about being safe. She'll get there even after 30 years I still get the odd junction wrong when I don't know the area . The thing is I will not panic and asses my opinions

I think with a little bit of fine tuning on awareness and signaling correctly at roundabouts Mel will get through her test!
Once again great video clip in 4K format, love seeing those great clips around the Apex corner etc. from your channel :)
Btw, having had my licence for more than a year I'm still concerned for my alloy wheels touching the curbs, so can feel for yours too, they must be quite dear to replace (inflation adjusted too)!!

    Another fantastic edit!
In all seriousness, taking this mock test was one of the best decisions for my learning journey, and I feel like I've learned from the very best! A huge thank you, Roland. I look forward to more great content from you!
I’ll be watching this video repeatedly to remind myself of my progress and to avoid becoming too complacent while driving.
Stay safe on the roads, everyone!

You are so close to being where you need to be… you just need to stop thinking about faults but instead think about risk…It was my great pleasure to meet you and help you along your driving journey. You’ve got this!! 🙌

@@GetWheelDriving I hope DVSA won't cancel on me again. Test in less than 2 weeks now. My signals are much better now but one of the hardest things to build a habit on in awareness and planning!

15:05 - Could this be marked as serious in a real test given that I caused another road user to overtake and get caught in that jam due to my confusing road position?

On the day I didn’t fault it… it is possible for that to go against you but ultimately you did the right thing you just stopped a bit short.

17:46 I remember this very confusing bit of road. This is the first time I'm seeing parked cars on the roundabout on the right hand lane?. What is that area called?
