As an instructor, this video was really helpful. Occassionally, when running mock tests, i do what he did and support along the way as I also "just cant help it" sometimes. Its lovely to see from the outside how it is still helpful and in the right circumstances, is absolutely the right thing to do. I feel if he hadnt answered her questions, asked her prompting questions and had just let her get on with it, shed have spiraled into her own head and it would have been a much more negative experience! Great vid and really useful!
Sad to see this. Recently changed instructors as on the day of my mock test (we had three 1 hr 30 min lessons that week with the mock test on the last lesson), he asked me to follow the sat nav, although we had never used it once. I had 29hrs with him and used the sat nav once and it was on the mock test! Many other things I could say but ill leave it there. If you have an instructor who seems to be observing rather than teaching, change them! You're meant to be learning not giving the instructor a ride around town!
so glad she sacked him !!!!!!!!! He should deffo have gone over those types of things before especially if her driving test is in 2 weeks. Dont worry though You've got this
Hi she doesn’t seem to know the simple rules of the road which is concerning and if her driving test is soon then she needs to go over the rules of the road and how to read a sat nav
I was on my driving test when I realised that I hadn't used the sat nav on any of my lessons! Luckily I was used to being in my dad's car as a passenger and he's had a sat nav for years, so it wasn't entirely new to me.
I just failed my driving test 30 mins ago due to one serious fault of doing 28 mph on a "20 is flashing" part of a 30mph road. I still can't believe how i missed it. I feel so bad. Never booking my test on a school time again 😢.
I passed on Tuesday, I only done parking on the right twice and sat nav twice in the 7 months I was learning, what did I get on my test? Parking on the right and sat nav lol
Had my test yesterday and my nerves got the best of me to the point where I had more majors than during any driving lesson i've had which i'm really annoyed at myself for, I know you have videos and tips for nerves i think i'll give them a watch just really annoyed with myself and feel like I let my instructor down.
Good question! Stay in your lane and move to the right. The same positioning you’d do if you were waiting to turn right into a road but waiting for oncoming vehicles to pass
Not nessarilly. It will depend on the situation . At times emergency services will use the opposite side if it clear. And people have held back . They won't expect you to break the law
im watching from northern ireland, our test is pretty different(its so backwards and behind, i cant go over 45mph for a year after ive passed) i love ur videos! ive watched nearly every video in preparation for my exam haha
@DrivingSchoolTV hi my name is Dan i feel like am wasting my money as my instruction sit on his phone and then nust shout at me the whole time and am feeling like am not learnign anything and i been doing since june
I’ve noticed she drives slow sometimes very under the speed limit even when there are no hazards and the road is clear ahead - would this be considered a minor fault or a serious fault? She seems so lovely I’m sure she will get her licence with a few improvement that she’s learnt from this mock test 🤍 Good luck to her
Early in the video he said he'd give her a minor fault for going 14 in a 20 mph zone because it wasn't necessary for her to be going that speed when there were no hazards
If it happens once/a couple of times, they'd be classed as minors. But if you go extremely slowly for no reason once (e.g. 10 mph in a 30), or continuously drive under the limit, it becomes a major fault and you'll fail. Because you're holding up other vehicles and it shows you're not a confident, test-ready driver
the fact her driving test is so soon & her instructor hasn't gone over or taught her so many things is very concerning
Amazing content as always many thanks Francis and everyone at DSTV! Absolute legend and please keep it up! ❤

Sometimes you learn just as much by observing what others do

Oh bless. Next time. 😢

I can't believe she hasn't done right turns 2 before her test. I would expect that by the 2nd lesson maybe not complicated rights

Francis, I'd like to book for a moc test in sevenoaks area if you are available, please?
been hitting the gym?? arms looking big man 💪
Aha thanks 🙏
Educative video..
Question:
Should she move to middle of the road before she pulls up on the right or stay in her lane waiting for space to pull up
Good question! Stay in your lane and move to the right. The same positioning you’d do if you were waiting to turn right into a road but waiting for oncoming vehicles to pass
Great vid ❤. If you need to give way to emergency services on your driving test will you fail if you move onto the crossing?
Not nessarilly. It will depend on the situation . At times emergency services will use the opposite side if it clear. And people have held back . They won't expect you to break the law
Good reply there mr woodwork! Don't break traffic rules to help an emergency services vehicle.
9:50 what kind of roundabout
Love Tolworth
Do you do automatic
Keep right or keep left means keep right or left of the fork
what's the app for the satnav?
It's TomTom
