Imo pickup radius is definitely worth it to get, since magnets don't drop often, and you need the xp to lvl up weapons. The more you can get, the better.

Sludge pump can be pretty OP, though I think it might be less so on the driller’s 1st class, compared to his 2nd class. Basically, sacrifice a little bit of direct damage but all status effect damage over time (acid, fire, electric) is more powerful. And the sludge pump’s acid puddles last for a fairly long time, meaning lots of enemies get melted just from trying to chase you down. Little tip, if you want it. If the supply pod lands on the final boss enemies of a floor, its an instant kill, no matter what Hazard level you’re at. And it will take 1/2 the health of the Dreadnought on floor 5 if it lands on him.

So the upgrades that make your gun pretty can be useful if you need to get the item to cap or to the overclock level asap.
