Episode 1 featured a trip to Hokkaido with IRyS, and episodes 2 & 3 feature a trip to Yufuin with Botan.

@@Fulikia It's more difficult than that. There are tons of dialects in China, but the Kanji is the same. They can't understand each other when speaking but can read the same thing. Not surprising that it isn't pronounced the same way as in Japan, since... well... which dialect? lol

@@FigmentHF There are reasons to eat meat beyond "it tastes nice". Take Fauna for example, she feeds her cat rabbit because he has a medical condition. You can choose to believe that meat is simply bad for you, but that doesn't seem logical if you look at what our fellow animals do in nature. Most animals are opportunistic carnivores. It's entirely natural for humans to eat meat. (That doesn't mean that we need it in the quantities that we are currently consuming though, I'll give you that.)
Nature is cruel, and humans are part of nature, including our exploitation of other animals/our environment. I agree that we might able to rise above that eventually, but I don't think the way forward is trying to guilt people into it. As Fauna has mentioned, being an "annoying vegan" is counterproductive.
I do agree that lab-grown meat sounds like a great alternative, if it ends up being affordable. We'll see.

Except the flavor of meat is more from the amino acids than the protein itself. Were it predominantly from the protein, then things that have high protein contents outside of meat would have a meaty taste.

The "vegan meat" meals are not made for vegans, but for people that like the taste of regular meat that want to have a similar taste when eating vegan meals. It's a pretty recent phenomenon I feel.
Anything that's an artificial stand-in for something is going to use the term of the thing it's substituting because that's how food language works. That's also because it's overly complicated when a term like "artificial-chicken flavoured soy" and "artificial, chicken-flavoured soy" would mean radically different things when Ilit comes to whether or not they have an animal product.
That's why "Vegan" is a modifier as a descriptor to let you know it's a synthetic reproduction of something replacing the animal product that follows. Especially since a lot of Buddhist monks work to recreate the taste of things that they ate before, calling the dishes things like Vegan Chicken, Vegan Beef, Vegan Milk, etc. just makes sense.
There's no point in developing a whole separate word when the language manages to accurately convey the concept. Lastly, scientific and culinary terminology don't always match (ex: tomatoes are scientifically fruit, but they're vegetables in the culinary sense). The term "meat" also has a level of culinary flexibility where it isn't always referring to animal muscle, so don't get too hung up on explicit terminology having variable meanings in different contexts. Languages do that all the time.

buddhists also doesnt eat meat, its not limited to the west. Thing with buddhists is they also dont eat plants where you kill the plants. Basically you dont eat fruits with a lot of seed, because theyre a lot of lives lost. Mostly you can eat leaves because the plant is still alive. dairy is fine because you dont kill an animal. Its because of the concept of reincarnation, they think that animals or plants could be humans that were reincarnated.
Anyway I kinda feel like being a vegetarian is really off, humans afterall had diets consisting of hunted animals in the early days, along with insects fruits etc. Humans are natural omnivores.
