Those gates look awesome Jules! Tidy job on the cobbles and walls too, plus the relief of the slight mound looks just about right, and will look terrific once you’ve gone for the ‘wildly overgrown’ look, especially if you get loads overhanging the walls 😜 Cheers mate! 🍻🍀👍

Well Julian, you have certainly impressed me. The warehouse and new landscaping area is absolutely stunning. I especially love your iron gates are fantastic, well done. Great creativity, it’s nice to see Station Road coming on really well, when you first mentioned about extending the layout, I immediately thought, no Julian, you’ll wreck all your good work, but thankfully I was totally wrong, and I don’t mind admitting this. So, may I say, well done and keep up the great work.👍
Very cool to watch Julian! As always I’m impressed with your ability to snug-fit. The laser-cut cast iron gate from high density black paper looks absolutely awesome!! Cheerio
That high density form looks like a great product, makes it easy to create landforms. But when I see it, I imagine you have taken a big slab of butter or cheese... I love how you use the paper templates, too. Great work
Great work Julian, though it was a bit shocking seeing you carve away all that material! Looks pretty good now though. I particularly admired the view up the new road between the terraced houses and the warehouse at 21:19 and back towards what now looks like a fairly substantial town (especially with the big chimney) in the background, Fred Dibner had obviously not been invited in just yet. It's all so reminiscent of arriving in many a northern town, approaching from the countryside, perhaps approaching the edge of Huddersfield or Chesterfield, at least that is what it reminded me of. What is now known as 'Edgeland'. And then there is that more distant view at 21:36 through to your other big factory, lovely stuff.
hey @Station Road Model Railway that isn't gravel you used for warehouse building. thats brick (in this case roadbrick), now the fillment between the brick darn well could be gravel... damn now i get it lol

I think it will be all secure. I considering doing an experiment in a future episode where I take two identical card buildings, on sprayed with a matt clear varnish and one without, and leave them outside to see what happens to them, might be a fun experiment🙂
This is the neatest and best i have seen.But your knowledge of reality to me is letting you down.The only time ,you would see walls built this way.if a electrical station was next to a building.and wall would be all around it.i dont understand why you never just put the wall straight across and had a bigger court yard.And lowerd that mound ,as it would be done in the real world.
Thanks for your comment, however my knowledge of reality is just fine, and Station Road is not reality, it is materialising from a culmination of my imagination and elements from the real world. In reality the wall probably would go straight across but that would look boring so I built it stepped in.

Really taking shape. Something very satisfying about carving that foam isn’t there!
Agreed, foam carving is quite satisfying, it's quite a sculptural process. The only downside is the shavings build up static and stick to everything.

Brilliantly done! I'd never have thought those iron gates were laser cut card. They look like high-end etched brass.
I was quite surprised myself with how well the gates laser-cut on my budget laser cutter.

Love your work on this structure. My only suggestion is why don't you remake the opening video to your current configuration of your layout?
Updating the opening video is one of those items on my to-do list, along with a multitude of other tasks😯
