In this chapter, Naomi instructs Ruth to make a bold move, and Ruth does exactly as she is told. She puts everything on the line and we are left with a cliff hanger, wondering...what is going to happen next?
I'm so excited to unpack with you all the significance of the threshing floor, and every detail of this intense exchange between Ruth and Boaz. In it we can glean some important insights on romantic relationships, but even more significantly, it reveals to us a powerful truth about God and the way He works in our lives. 💛

Honestly you are the only woman in my life who I share faith with, Kaci! :) I became a Christian in college sort of "on my own" and never made any real connections with anyone from my church or age group, but I wish I had someone in my day-to-day life to look to for faithful guidance! I learned that God has a purpose for all that He allows, and if we just hold on to His promises and stay obedient, He will see us through.
What I learned that god was in control of both boaz and ruth lives. It was good that they both had patience to wait on God!

I appreciate that you see the good qualities in Naomi. I’ve listened to other studies on the book of Ruth, and many people settle Naomi’s character as bitter. A deeper analysis would show us that Naomi was always concerned for the wellbeing of her daughters in law, seeking to help them make decisions that would benefit them in the long term. The fact that these two women did not want to depart from her side speaks volumes. Through Naomi they understood that the God of Israel was better than any other gods, His laws and statutes, when obeyed, could make the kind of society that protects widows and the destitute.

How did Boaz persue Ruth if Ruth is the one who got herself all dolled up by Noemis instructions (Verse3) then went "softly" to lay next to him in the middle of the night and startled him and is the one who purposed to boaz? (verse 9).... yet this story is always about boaz chasing down his ruth ?..what!!!
Idk what I’m missing but the more I read and listen to this, I see it more as Boaz wanting to ensure she is safe and protected, but I see her perusing him. Ruth is continually positioning herself in his space and she Perseus him. I don’t really see him Pershing her. I don’t know what I’m missing??
