If those artists are broke, and their fanbase is that solid, then they shouid just organise a concert, and let the people come and support them, but accepting Ruto's invite is spitting on the many who have died and disappeared thanks to Ruto.
Kenya is a mess because of the countless men who clearly lack reasoning and judgement, and this panel is a reflection of the calibre of men we have in Kenya. Ruto and his ilk will carry on regardless because of people like YOU. Its even worse because these men have a platform and they use it to promote daf t things.
The panel has the audacity to claim, that its a national to commemorate those who fought. Trust and believe, those who died or fought, know ITS NOT YET UHURU and therefore the focus should be on using Jamhuri day to advance what they were fighting for, not to use it to dance to Ruto's machinations.
These panel and those supporting their arguments are unserious and unslow, ni kuchekacheka tu ndio mnajua.

Penye tuko at this stage performing apo ni making a statement so kama uko okay associating with msee anaua ma youth then jua tu tutaku boycott. Alafu hio ata sio biashara cz hio serikali ata haiezilipa watu. Na wakikosa kulipwa wataenda kulilia nani
Why just artistes....why not the broadcasters, event organisers, suppliers and others, tuwache ufala, kazi lazima iendelee, school fee itafutwe, watoto wakule
Artists have a big influence
@@wanjirukimani280 Exactly. If Miriam Makeba was a tumbocrat, she would not have carried the struggle of her country on her shoulders to the detriment of her career. She was abroad when her passport was revoked for singing about the ills of the Pretoria regime. Despite this she never backed down and continued exposing them to the extent Sekou Toure included her in the Guinea entourage to the UN. She was able to address the UN in 1964, highlighting the Rigonia Trial and in doing so was one of the many who saved Mandela and his colleagues from the hangman's noose.
Her concerts and contracts were CANCELLED when she married Stokely Carmichael (Kwame Ture) a member of SNCC, and honorary president of the Black Panther Movement, the man who coined the term BLACK POWER. They didn't hang around begging for acceptance, forgiveness or change, instead they moved to Guinea (Conakry). She lived there until 1986 when a new regime replaced Sekou Toure's regime. Kwame Toure died in Guinea 38 years later.
Nina Simone, Harry Belafonte, Sidney Poitier, Marlon Brando were at the fire front of the Civil Rights Movement. They organized concerts, donated their earnings, in fact THEY are the ones who spearheaded the KENNEDY AIRLIFT FOR AFRICAN STUDENTS! As Nina Simone said, *an artist's role is to reflect the times* i.e lead the fight against oppression!
Kenyan artists are as shallow their art, little wonder they have no qualms colluding with the oppressive political class.
Mnataka artist wakule matako?

It's commendable if they boycott out of principle but also it's not compulsory. It's an individual choice because we don't know their financial situation.

@@kamasalothi1040 It's not a question of being tribal, fact is Kikuyus are obsessed with circumcision, you would think they're the only ones who circumcise in the whole of Kenya. He's not the first Kikuyu to invoke circumcision out of the blues.
