    Just found you! This was fascinating… Can you please tell me exactly how you use it after you harvest do you just lay it down round on top of the pot or do you lay it down underneath the pot or actually on top of the plant around the where it’s growing? And exactly how you use it ?Please give more details. Can’t wait to hear from you. Thank you so much.😊

    A quick question. Why do you have to drill the tray that does not have the holes? I saw that you put the meshtray on top? So the tray that is drilled gonna sit in standing water?

    Is it possible just to use the no hole tray with dead sphagnum and live sphagnum on the top covered by a close humidity dome?

      I’ve been growing mine successfully using a similar method using a 350mm seedling tray from Bunnings placed inside a clear plastic storage container. I used a bed of peat moss under the dried sphagnum layer to provide more moisture retention and nutrients. I mist it using rain water or pond water (tap water contains chlorine and should be left out for a day or treated first) once in a while when it looks like it needs it. The lid creates a nice humid environment as I live in a hot and relatively dry area of Australia. The excess water drains out the bottom of the tray as it has a little clearance under the tray. If it pools a little at the bottom I know I’ve got enough water in there.

    Thank you for information. I'm thinking put live spaghnum inside my nepenthes pot. Direct sun can burn them ? They see few hour morning sun and summer my city can be 40 degree. How can i keep them alive in summer ?

    • @carnivaro
      @carnivaro  6 месяцев назад

      direct sun will burn it, if your Nepenthes plats are long enough maybe try to keep only the pots with sphagnum moss in shaded area and the Nepenthes Vines can still reach the sun, this way you keep both happy.

    How do you deal with algae that has already grown?

    • @carnivaro
      @carnivaro  6 месяцев назад +1

      mix 1 part of 3% hydrogen peroxide with 3 parts of distilled water, spray the areas with algae, the sphagnum moss might turn white, but dont be alarmed, new healthy sphagnum will grow soon, also keep well drainage and wash frequently to remove algae spores.
