Video 38 of me liking and then commenting on every new upload to tell the viewers that the Man Alone Podcast is absolutely some of that sweet, unhinged audio/vocal-honey. Psssst. You can hand a person ONE book. They WILL read this book. What book are you handing them? I may just go with The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky.
I would actually agree with this Brothers Karamazov was the most fulfilling reading experience of my life. I read it while I lived alone in the mountains of Nicaragua and even though that sounds very adventurous I was in a job that did not make me happy at all and I felt incredibly lonely and this book made me feel like I had a friend. To think it was supposed to be part of a Trilogy...anyway, second place I would say would be...mmm obviously it would depend what they were looking for or what I was looking for but that's not the question...so hard to say...East of Eden? Blood Meridien? Gravity's Rainbow? Neuromancer? I'm going to go with Blood Meridien. I want everyone to know brutality so no one takes it lightly.
I dont know if you care, but you made the life of an nearly 50 year old man somewhere in eastern germany a little better with your video(s). I love your videos.
Happy International Talk Like a Pirate Day! I honestly don’t know many people who remember this day!😄 Word of Encouragement: Because of you, I finally have a Solo rpg setup that I actually using to play! It’s basically Black Hack, with some Perilous Wilds, Knave 2e, the one page hex crawl for white box, the deck of many dungeons, and the d20 random tables and Solo RPG GME, by Wilona’s Cave. I felt like was procrastinating for way too long, so I just rolled up a warrior, and did a small 5 room dungeon delve with the deck. Didn’t go perfectly, but it was a fun little adventure, and I already have an adventure ready to go for next session! I genuinely appreciate your videos, sir. I’d been trying to get into solo rpg playing for what seems like years, and now I’m doing it. Thank you.
Wow, this is so wonderful to read. Not only that I was helpful to you in this way but in that you have such an awesomely specific load out. I may have to try this solo arsenal, it seems as though you have tweaked to perfection. Thank you madmandu, seriously
The Oreo joke legit made me lol 😂😂 I’ve definitely experienced having to stop leaning on some friends the same way as I had let them lean on me. That’s a tough feeling to have and I’m sorry youre going through it man. I know that the solo community is sending their love and I hope you can feel it!!
@@druidichabit9181 hot dam that waffle looks good on you. And also, yes - you have correctly diagnosed my situation that I was obliquely referring to. I can tell you have been through something similar because you have described it to a T. A capital T
Oh and Tephrotic Nightmares is awesome, very unique binding and presentation :D The Hexplorers guides are instant buys for me, I have a guillotine and a booklet stapler. Saves on lots of postage for the numerous Mothership and Mork Borg PDFs I've bought.
This is a great idea, next buy is going to be a military grade stapler. I want to be able to staple my two nephews together when they aren't getting along
I like to think that the pirate theme offers an adventure that can be a bit more on the comedic side of the situations and the ways you deal and get out of situations. I'm thinking of Secret of Monkey Island and just how over the top it could be. There is that tongue in cheek style comedy that comes with pirates that I don't seem to find in other genres. Lastly, a pirate themed game I find exciting because you can start on a single island, and sail to an unknown destination and you can discover new land or things out at sea. Obviously you can do a lot of this in most other games but there is that over the top nature with a pirate themed game that just does it for me.
Okay, not gonna lie I didn't think any of you would have an argument that could sway me but this island point is a really good point. Especially for solo and having an easy and sensical built in system for encountering totally different environments rather than just saying "oh and this dungeon room is like this, and then this one is like THIS, and then this other one is covered in THIS," etc. Islands having their own character makes more sense as in internal logic. Awesome comment. I'm a boltfan-fan

Depends what ya like!
