Gabe Sewell thanks Gabe! I’m gonna do more in the future because I also realized a lot of peeps like them! Yes Sigma lenses are defo. Some of the best lenses for astro :)
Adrien Mauduit Another lens reviewing channel I watch, Dustin Abbott, has just started in reviewing the Sigma 105mm f/1.4 Art, I was just mentioning to him how excellent I think that lens could be for astrophotography as well: probably as sharp as the Samyang 135mm f/2.0, but a full stop faster! That's a huge advantage for unguided tracked deep space exposures like the ones you do.
Great vid. Lots of fantastic information provided. Thanks for sharing. Im trying to decide which Sigma lens to get. I plan on doing some astrophotography in Utah and Arizona this summer. Deciding between 20mm & 24mm. Both are f1.4. I want to avoid any distortion from wide angle. Would like to do both still photography(pano) and timelapses as well. Have you reviewed these lenses? I didnt see one on you channel. Thanks
The 50 mm and the 35 mm Art Series are my absolute favourites, tonight I will go out and test them on the universe. As I'm just starting with astrophotography and I also have the 150 - 600 mm Contemporary tele from Sigma, does anybody know if that also works well without a tracker?
Another great video. I have a question for you. How does the A7R2 compare to the 6d when doing tracked shots. Notice you only seem to use the A7R2 for time lapse. Would really appreciate a comparison 👍
Great video and comparison that’s really helpful having all those identical shots at the various F stops. I have a 6D myself and a samyang 24mm 1.4 ( only just bought it ) I can’t wait to go out and shoot :) Thanks Adrien, Ant
7K.METALWORX thanks Ant!! Yes I used to own 5 samyang 24mm but they all died due to poor build quality. I hope yours is better! Other than that this lens is awesome!!
about to purchase a 5D mark IV for some landscape and astrophotography, will be aurora hunting in a few weeks too, Is the 5D a mistake, is the sonyA7III a better buy. were aiming for sigma 14mm F/1.8 DG HSM art, sigma 135mm F/1.8 Art, for astro use with a skywatcher star adventurer mount. Canon EF 24-70mm F/2.8 L II USM for day/landscape use.
Really great review Adrien- Thank You very much for taking your time to examine this lens at different appartures. Glad I have it in my arsenal already ;-)
Great video! I'm also thinking about buying a camera and lens to start with astrophotography, but the thing is that i live in a light polluted area, would that still give good results or not?
Thanks a lot Joachim!! That's awesome! Well you really would have to get out of the light polluted area if you really wanna see something, but for testing I think it's a good place to start anyways! :)
Okay Thanks! :) i'm really new to this! Do you always search for Dark skies then? Do I maybe need a light pollution filter, could that help? If yes do you have recommendations? :)
Great video! Is it worth to get this lense in combination with the Canon 6D as a beginner? (my first camera and also lense) I need a lense for astro,- and landscape photography or would you recommend a different lense for this purpose (especially for beginners)?
Kalti thanks! Absolutely! I wish I had known this when I started Astrophotography, it would have made my life easier. If you can invest in it I would highly recommend it!!
Thanks Dexter. Yes I know, I'm not shooting in S-Log either because it's hell to color grade for this purpose. I don't think it's too much disturbing though because I'm not the main subject of this vid :)
purchased the Sigma 50mm Art and was amazed with everything from build quality to sharpness, definitely my go to lens, great review.
Great video I’ve just ordered the sigma well looking forward to trying some Astro with it on the R6 👍👍👍
Awesome, lenses for astrophotography is my favourite series. Thanks Adrien! Sigma Art lenses really are a cut above the rest.

Many thanks for the video. Very useful!
you are much better of with the 20mm f1.4 art than.30 mm for astro ... the results I am getting from the 16mm and 20mm art is mind blowing
great, clear review. bravo

Great review, thank you. Any chance you could compare the Tokina Opera 50mm and Tamron 45mm please? Then you can compare...

lol joachim
Does it have better cornersharpness than the ZEISS 55mm 1.4 Otus????
Nope it doesn't.
Even the Sony Zeiss 50mm f1.4 Planar is sharper.
@@saadazzahrani NO its NOT.
@@helthuismartin See Ken Rockwell's review and Dustin Abott's.
It's the best 50mm(ish) just after the 55mm Otus.
@@saadazzahrani I disagree with Ken Rockwell.
@@helthuismartin OK

Great review. Just one thing, your background light is too bright than your face.
