Yea, that's called a LIE. 🤣😂 That's like someone commiting murder and saying "I didn't commit murder" with blood on their hands. If you have to say "there will be no controversy" like some Jedi mind trick, then there is controversy. They said what they said. Black supremacy is real. Blacks claim it in their bio. Black people admit it exists. Nice try... not. 🤣😂🤣
lol Samael may have came first but if you listen to songs Heliopolis, Door Of Celestial Peace, or Quasar Waves he does kind of sound like Till Linndemann. Which is how I kind of got into Samael.
HOOOOOLY FUUUUUUCK. I am a black man who loves real black metal. And this shit is fucking amazing. BLACK POWER isn't limited to the mundane usage. I have always seen the term as deriving strength from the aspects of humanity that others are too frightened to face.
I see some People claming it to be racist and shit. For y'all fools who wondering what this song stands for, the band said this before it's released. "We wanted to pay homage to our favorite color with a song. "Black isn't considered to be a color but in its purest essence it is an absolute value. "Musically, this track tends to be more extreme than the rest of the album but it couldn't be otherwise!" ✌
The lyrics are pretty damn clear too. Partially because I'm seeing the lyrics now, but I was able to hear him easily. Nothing about race, just the color black. P.S. Even I know this isn't blackface, just in case.
Great song! I feel this song is about the dangers of any form of power and religion. This is a fairly consistent theme of Samael and has been present on most of their music since Ceremonies of the Opposites. For example in Passage album the Man in your Head directly warns of this danger of falling into the extremes. Samael directly confronts this in this song. The song starts by stating "The truth behind the truth is the monster we abhor, the light behind the light...is black" Most of things in history had a reason and when it things started they made sense for the time. The very beginning of Nazi's gave the German people hope for the change. Solutions through much of the worlds history started out right but unfortunately continues to be corrupted by power. And that is the overall theme of the song, that power will always corrupt because it is power that will invade every idea and lead it to the dark extreme. This song is about movements of such as BLM and others and the dangers that abuse of power can bring. This song is extremely relevant in today's world where people can be quickly labelled as having right wing views without any evidence and quickly banned. The news filled with examples (marduck) but this has become commonplace in the several years. In America this was a long standing behavior with the religious right but the same ignorance is now being demonstrated by the liberal left. The mere fact that Samael has a song called Black Supremacy is a very risky move in this age. The song goes on to state "Through all shades of grey, Black is the new white, it is the time, it is the day of black supremacy" This shows that people are drawn to the extremes and there is no escape because people are to easily self absorbed and fail to understand each other. This theme is shown on the other song released on Hegemony , Red Planet, from the lines "Red Planet, Red Sky, the world ends in a blast, Red Planet, Red Sky, we are one people at last" To me this means that humanity will only be at peace when the world is destroyed like mars has been destroyed. The next part of the song then expresses the similarity to horrible "black history" of White Supremacy and how the left movement is beginning to play that role as the oppressor. The next lines "All colors resumed, all colors consumed, uncolorful- all powerful" describes is how people begin to see each other as a races instead of as people, they become consumed by labeling and this is the expresses the true evil and the dual meaning of "Black Supremacy", on one hand black is as skin color, but also black meaning evil. Ethnic race in this song is just a tool to express mankinds need to categorize each other to embrace supremacy, people do this by focusing on political parties affliation, being gay or straight, and almost everything. When people choose to not see the whole person and stay inside of their own views of how they see things, they begin to become unable to process other views and automatically dismiss them. The final lyrics express this by saying "growing darker and darker and darker now we kill" Kill is not meaning murder, but the killing the process of understanding. The final lyric of the song is "digging deeper and deeper and deeper our dream is real" This creates the image of person digging a grave and fully embracing an extreme view. Just like Christian Supremacy, White Supremacy, Black Supremacy, it was all a dream, there is no supremacy. Well that is my wrong analysis of this . Vorph said in decibal interview that it was just a homage to his favorite color. Too bad, I was way off.
I think you really want to make it a right wing praise when it obviously isn't... I guess that's an antiracist song at its core, but not made the PC way, so it tries hard to piss off everyone from right-wing trumpheads to left-wing cancel culture fans. It's just about praising black skin and Satan alike as a punk song.
I know this is an old comment but that's a good analysis. So many of their songs also have heavy psychedelic themes and it's amazing to see how subtle yet clearly they present them.
Ya 🤣 personally looking for virtue signaling comments. Have to educate the ignorant on what the song actually means through steel trolling. Yours is the most current comment I've found so far.
man. a band that has barely left its roots. why dont i listen to them more. i think. its cause back in my days we had to buy cd's and was hard to own them all specially once u scratched them up or they were stolen. oh and they dont tour round hurr
That's the comment I was looking for. Statues being torn down and history rewritten in name of black supremacy. It started slow it's coming fast. Samael were kind of a prophet of things to come.
Worst thing is if not having same opinions as masses, then you will be "witch hunted". Good example is Raikkonen who refused to kneel down only because others did but rather stated that he himself chooses time at which he wants to support the BLM, which is reasonable and media almost nailed him to cross for that. Why being forced into something? It reminds me of a certain regime some 80 years ago. Weird times we live in.
@@lukaskubinec9608 fascist movements like BLM are taking over. Just like in Nazi Germany in 1930ies, people get into trouble if they refuse to show the "appropriate" gesture.

They always are ...
It's not even about black people or race. I was gonna say "Wow, is this about black Israelites?" Even I find that stuff cringy.
I'm black and a lifelong metalhead. This song has nothing to do with race, but the blackness in humanity and the Left Hand Path.
You betcha. Horns up.

There will be no controversy. It's metal. No one will actually know it exists.
And with that you just made sure everyone knows it exists
Its ok you don't need to be so afraid
I believe the theme is meant to represent the elements of Dark V Light. 😅
