Moonspell returns to the scene with what might be the most important album ever to be released by this legendary Portuguese metal band. With a renewed focus, they have risen to a new level so as to reclaim their throne as the leading European dark metal band. "Alpha Noir" is a nine-track outburst that shows us a much more incendiary band than in the past. With an avalanche of memorable guitar work, deeply rooted in the thrash metal of legends, Moonspell perfectly combines it with their own brand of Southern black metal, which they have been crafting since their groundbreaking debut offering: "Wolfheart". The special edition will also include a second CD, "Alpha Noir's" remarkable counterpart "Omega White". It follows a more atmospheric path, delivering epic and catchy songs in the vein of gothic rock icons, such as Sisters of Mercy and Type o Negative. Torn between two worlds, the Alpha - with tracks like the savage "Lickanthrope" (to be featured in the band's first video clip), the majestic title track, or the epic closing "Grandstand" - and the Omega - with "White Skies", the sensual "Herodisiac", or the heartbreaking "Whiteomega"- make this release a bulletproof double album to present to the band's hordes of avid moon gazers. Produced by Tue Madsen and arranged by Benny Richter, "Alpha Noir" will take the world by storm. It is a genuine release by a legendary act, who never hid in the bushes waiting for their musical style to regain popularity, but rather kept their heads proudly above the water, while always working to achieve greatness. Ribeiro said he took inspiration on some of his favorite horror movies for this, and you can see the influence of *An American Werewolf in London* and *From Dusk Till Dawn.* But the "pueblo" atmosphere comes from an obscure zombie (short) movie called *I'll See You in My Dreams,* with which Moonspell was also involved. It's worth a look, for real fans out there.
Great song, intense, heavy and catchy. Moonspell never disapoints and they are one of the reasons why i am a proud Portuguese.

Actually they tried to recreate the old pub scene from "I'll See You in My Dreams", a portuguese short horror film (Evil Deadish) for which they also created a song.

Tal como com a Nocturna e a Everything Invaded, foi filmado em Portugal com actores portugueses. É assim mesmo! Apesar de cantarem sobretudo em Inglês Moonspell = Portugal. (filmado no Norte provavelmente: paredes com blocos de granito (obs: no Norte, pelos menos, há muito este assunto de crença em lobisomens, ou pelo menos havia)) A música não é nada de excepcional mas mesmo assim é bastante boa, tem elementos muito interessantes. For all non-portuguese speakers there's always google translate.

I've listened to these guys since 2004, these guys are the only Portuguese Death metal I'll listen to any day
I don't like to label them, as myself a true wolf heart fan of Moonspell since 2005, but they're more like dark metal with many many folk metal elements. I don't think we need to mention the black metal influence on Moonspell which still haunting through recent albums specially 1755 albums.
