    I remember the kiosk they had back in the day. Was very happy to see they had opened the store! My daughter and I love their clothing.

    ❤❤Respect. 1974 Growing up in Downey California my Parents would take us to East LA and then to Little Tokyo. We loved the hospitality of the people and the parades , thank you. As a Mexicano American , we have history. Thank you 🙏

      It makes me sad about East LA. My family members used to tell me it was a Mexican and Japanese Neighborhood but due to the war the Japanese were displaced.

    Very cool story. I wish they did have an online store so we can support from Australia. We will just need to either wait for a launch or fly over to LA haha

    Please, please…PLEASE…get back on the interwebs. I am far from my old SoCal stomping grounds, but I would absolutely LOVE to support the business, both as a Cali expat AND a lover of Japanese people & culture. 👍🍻❤️🇯🇵🔥🙇‍♂️

    Only been to lil Tokyo once and got to see the kiosk up at the time. T-shirt designs were fresh. Must have been the husband that helped us but super nice dude.

    This is an example of why we need to preserve the flavor of Little Tokyo in downtown LA. It’s precarious. New investors want the foot traffic that comes there for the Japanese flavor but don’t support the “Japanese-ness”. They will end up killing what they covet. Thanks for highlighting this for the world.

      The majority of Japan towns/little tokyos have turned into Korea or Chinese towns over time. Those two are less welcoming, gotta fight for the Japan towns existence!

      As a Mexicano American Yes, the wife’s are who hold the community together. Mario Puzo the author of the God Father. He said, Little Italy , it was the women who held the community together 😅

      @@bronco6456 Yeah i see that wife is Korean and im curious why she kept her last name “kim” still. Idk maybe they were never married. Ive seen many couples with kids but never officially married, so that could be it. I wonder how much Japanese culture that she understands and how well she speaks Japanese to run the business.
