    Great work mate!
    Here’s some tips to for the future:
    1. Use an acrylic fortifier in you’r admixture. This will give your top coat an almost clay-like consistency and allow you to sculpt/carve/texture in much greater detail. It also adheres to vertical surfaces much easier, meaning you will need a much thinner coat and your whole enclosure will be much lighter.
    2. Once you’d done painting, spray on a silicate based penetrating concrete sealer. This seals from the inside so it doesn’t affect the surface appearance at all. Doing this will prevent lime leaching/pH issues in wet habitats. It will also prevent urea and other waste from your animals soaking into concrete and makes things much easier to clean

    What tile pointing did you use? Was it colored or did you add paint to the mix?

    Amazing tutorial! It looks so realistic, I'd love to give this a try! I plan on doing this for a bioactive, however I'm wondering if this will be safe for a bioactive? Like; Will a clean-up crew/water/heat damage the background? Is this safe in exposure to heat and/or water?
    Keep it up! Looking forward to how your enclosure turned out.

    in as much as 3D backgrounds are cool but I totally dislike the idea of it taking up aquarium space....also, cement is messy...im too lazy to keep changing water up until the lime had totally leeched out of the cement...better off do a 3D background (boxed) to be placed at the back of the aquarium...pretty much the same effect with no excess work :)

    • @coopsreptiles2588
      @coopsreptiles2588  Год назад +1

      I understand for aquariums! This is for lizards so it actually adds usable space for the animals!
