    I just bought one of these for work to reheat my food, but never actually cooked in them. Now that I found your recipes, I’m definitely going to try making fresh food at work instead of reheating my leftovers. Thanks for sharing.
    One thing I wish you had added was to see the food turned out after sharing your recipes. I guess I’ll have to try them out myself to actually see how it turns out.

    TLDR: this product is great at cooking meat, (tested with chicken)
    First off, I usually don’t comment on vids, but due to the controversy of this crock pot I had to weigh in.
    I got this mini crockpot on Amazon a few days ago. Thought I saw that it was ok to cook but the manual states otherwise, that it’s just a warmer. BUT this vid gave me hope. I tested it out at work the other day and bada bing bada boom perfectly cooked chicken. Great vid and already bought some ingredients to test out the recipes.

    Made most of the dishes, I like them and I’ll be making some again for next week’s office lunch. At my second try I will be cooking the meat first, especially the pork either brown it by frying or put in pressure cooker. Only the meatball is already pre-cooked. I believe the mini crockpot is a food warmer does not really fully cook the meat. Thanks for the recipes.

    This is really interesting. I use mine to heat soup or stew, various pre-cooked items. I know it gets up to quite a temperature, but hadn’t even considered trying to ‘cook’ something. I have a food thermometer so will be able to check it is done. Are your stated cooking times from frozen, or did you defrost them first?

    • @ClaireRisper
      @ClaireRisper  Год назад +2

      So I like to store them flat in the bags and then I run them under hot water to soften them up. They aren’t totally thawed but not solid frozen either. Definitely use a thermometer just in case but this baby gets HOT and we’ve never had an uncooked piece of meat after a few hours!

    This is a lunch warmer. Not a mini slow cooker. I wouldn’t recommend cooking raw meat in it. It doesn’t get hot enough. The purpose is to warm up lunch and avoid workplace microwaves or to warm up your already cooked food.

      @ClaireRisper  2 года назад +23

      We used a thermometer to double check and it absolutely reached safe temperatures for eating. If it makes you uncomfortable however, you can always check the temp before you eat anything! We’ve been using it for months and it always cooks everything to a safe temp, it often has the habit of cooking a little too hot, you can’t leave your chicken in there all day it disintegrates lol.

      I have a deep freezer so I can keep mine for up to a year, but depending on how you store them I would say try to use them within a couple months!

    All the reviews call this a warmer and don't show it working like a regular crock pot. I'm about to order and really need to know if I leave it on for 4 hours will it cook my food? And no one says whether you leave the silicone seal on it while cooking

    I’m curious on how you are cooking the mini meals in the lunch crockpot? The directions say not to put raw meat in the lunch crockpot.

      In my experience, the chicken has always temped out easily in this cooker. If you use common sense and a thermometer you can use this safely. Alternatively, if it makes you more comfortable you can absolutely pre-cook your chicken!

    How thorough does it cook the meat? Med? Med well? Well done?

    • @ClaireRisper
      @ClaireRisper  2 года назад

      It cooks it well done if you leave it in for a long time. I used a thermometer to ensure it came to safe eating temperatures. It exceeded 165 on the chicken in three hours

    thought this was just a warmer -- that's what it said on the box -- it actually cooks to a safe temp? are you sure???

    • @ClaireRisper
      @ClaireRisper  11 месяцев назад

      I temped it and it reaches 165* easily for my chicken but use your thermometer to check and be safe! You can always precook your meat if makes you more comfortable!

    just a suggestion. It be very helpful if you showed us how long to thaw it when you take out the freezer, what water temp, cold? Hot? Lukewarm? …. Show us you placing it in the specific slow cooker your talking about, show us which temp to put it on and for how long. And what it’s supposed to looks like when it comes out. Which each meal you showed us how to prep
    I’m sure each one of those meals have different settings and times. It’s cool you have the meal ideas but you left out all the details we needed. I’m sure each meat takes different times etc.
    You kinda left us to figure it out after you showed us various meals to prep

      While I did make this video to be helpful, it’s also my real life. I did not make these meals for a video I made them for my husband. If you cannot figure out how to use a slow cooker there are more basic videos out there. This warmer has one setting. I don’t check the temperature of the water I thaw my food in, I just run it under water until it softens. None of these have different settings or times. Put it in in the morning, eat it at lunch time. This is a meal prep video, it seems you are in search of a how to use a slow cooker video 👍

    I just have a quick question about the crockpot I know that referred to as a food warmer but can it actually COOK like a slow cooker

    • @ClaireRisper
      @ClaireRisper  Год назад

      Yep! We have used it many times and she runs pretty hot, more like the high setting on a regular crock pot. Always check your food temp to be safe! Each time it's cooked like a traditional slow cooker, the meat just breaks right apart :)

    I wouldn’t say it’s always high. It’s more like it’s always low. As a matter of fact the instructions say not to use with uncooked foods!

    • @ClaireRisper
      @ClaireRisper  11 месяцев назад

      So in my personal experience, the raw meat always temps out when I check it. If you are more comfortable with pre-cooking your chicken then you should totally do that! As long as it reaches 165* it’s totally safe.

    I'm reading that it's just a warmer, not an actual cooker, but looks like you are managing it as a cooker, and others have commented of cooking with it as well... Can you clarify? Thank you. I hope you are recovering nicely, Claire.

    • @ClaireRisper
      @ClaireRisper  2 года назад +4

      So yes, technically it is a warmer but we experimented with it and used a thermometer to make sure the meat reached a safe temperature for eating! It easily gets the chicken to 170* which is definitely safe to eat! When in doubt, check the temp!
