That's one issue I bring up to HF every now and then. They generally suit me for my purposes, but even though I have 6 of their swords and they are working on number 7 and I'm designing number 8 in my head, their tangs are not fine finished at all. One the other hand they have made some improvements in their tsuka offerings; Inlaid same'gawa panels are now supposed to be standard. And as options a full same' wrap is offered as is himhigami ito wrapping. But yeah a couple of minutes with a file and/or a belt sander to the tangs would not hurt.

put a block of wood under the end of the handle and the pins will come out without it bouncing all over the place.
What color is the ito? Is it cotton as well??
Working with japanese swords is so much more complicated than almost any other type sword. This is one of the reasons I don't make them. Lol
