Hi and bravo for your project. Just to mention, it's not that these camera "were last made and used in Afghanistan" ... they have been (and are STILL) in use in -for example- Spain and Cuba for several decades (DECADES). Thanks to the "How to make an Afghan Camera" film, there is a movement currently afoot to build, use and just play with these camera/labs. Unfortunately, DUE to that same film, many people mistakenly believe that this type of photography is unique to Afghanistan (again: it's NOT). Anyway, I hope you continue your project ... it looks pretty neat!
And the other day I was looking for some space and I through the bulk of the camera in the bin!! To be honest I would like to make another one but this one was just too small to operate successfully. If I did it again I'd start with a bigger box. Now I'm doing wet-plate collodion...
