UBT to the front again!!! Rob you guys are on your way to makin this K5 a truck to remember keep the good work!!! The frame turned out great with the black paint on it!!
Everything is looking so good I love the Detroit Wheels with a Continental Tires the way you got the frame setup with suspension the air ride looking good so far I can't wait till it's all finished
They look sharp. I think they would look killer with the center cap with the old school 3 bar spinners or whatever they called them back in the day. Can't wait to see the finished product!!
Awesome choice! I’ve been seeing these on some square body resto-mods. All you need now are the stainless “beauty” rings and the “knock-offs”, spinners!! Heck 2 the yeah!!
Plus size oem style wheels are my favorite look and these don't disappoint! It would be even better if they had trim rings like the originals. This is going to be a badass k5 Robbie!
I've used those same tires on a 2007 Charger R/T. They're awesome man. Work great in the rain, handle curvy roads superbly in dry conditions, and even do well in the snow. Hands down my favorite tire.
We had an issue with one wheel, but it ultimately seated. We used conventional knowledge of these wheels but then measured. These are pretty safe sizes/backspacing for any dropped squarebody.
God I'm setting my ways.... still old school!!! These rims are good looking, but a little to "brotherish" for me. They'll sit your project off great no doubt!!! You sold me on the Detroit Wheels though!! w.w.
When describing the specs on the wheels at the end of your video you said the fronts are 22 x 9 with 4 inch back space and the rears are 22 x 9 with 4 inches of back space. The rears obviously have less back spacing which is? That is a bad ass setup!!
Thinking about getting a set of 20x8 in front and 20x11 on back of 81 C10. Truck will have 5.5 inch static drop in front and 8 in rear any ideas on back spacing?
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS thank you for the video. I am a huge fan. I have a question. I have the same setup on a c10 MMW control arms, 3in drop spindles. I also have a 3in Z. My question for you is I’m going 20X8 DS Delrays on front. Do you have a recommendation on back spacing. I think I need either 5 or 5.5 but I see you have the 4.5 on the 22 but they don’t offer anything more Any help would be amazing
Hey man them delrays are awesome! How much was that exact set up I have a lowered 84 that I would love to bolt them on, this video has save me a lot of time. I was thinking about the rubbing. Plus it keeps the classic style thanks in advance 👀💪💪💪💪💪💪
I would have went a little wider on the back but to each there own. If everyone did tha same thing it would be a boring truck world. Keep up tha great work. UBT 4 life!
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS o ok got ya bro! But I called it when you first got a blazer slam it! My idea lol. Just kicking your tires buddy! Love this build. I'm going to get 1 after the 70 is done. Btw going great! UBT 4 LIFE!
They don't yet make the trim ring for the 22 yet, but I very much like the simplistic look of it without. This k5 isn't going to be flashy so I think it's going to fit just fine.
They are Delrays 22x9 all around with 4.75” bs up front (with 1” narrower control arms) and 4” bs in rear. Tires are Continental DSW06 - 265/35/22 up front and 285/35/22 in rear.
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I have a 81 square body and about to order these. I have a 6/8 drop kit. Not sure what backspacing I need for 22×9 with same tire size as yours. Do you suggest 4.75 on mine? Have factory control arms
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS I ordered detroit steel wheels yesterday...white Mack edition 18s up front 20s in back ...very stressful ordering wheels that expensive
Nice wheel. But surprised how spendy they're. Can get custom wheels for same or cheaper. I really want some. But not sure worth the price. Especially since not powdercoated or center caps. Everything is extras. By the time you're done. $2K into them.
I’m like you the factory gm 15x8s with the beauty rings and caps look better not dawging these they are nice in my opinion nothing looks better than the factory wheels and tire combo on that k10👍🇺🇸

I bought the Atturo tires you recommended in a previous video and have been pleased! Glad to see the k5 moving forward!!
Sweet! Still running those on Teddy. And for the money, they are hard to beat. That said, I'm real pumped to try these Continental tires.

#UBTK5 is coming along great. I'm sure we haven't seen the ugly struggle behind the scenes but the wheels n tire on the chassis is looking sweet. ✌

Super clean look already even without the body on
This is my favorite stage. I love getting them to the point of rolling.

They are both 22x9s but the backspacing is different front to back. Tire size too.
have you ever seen a larger tire than 255/35/20 on front of a 69 C10 with 4/6 drop?
Yes I’ve run 255/40 on 67-72 without issue. And prefer it.
