Thank you.UCLA has changed so much since I was a student in the 1970s! Wonderful improvements such as the stairs by Powell Library and Royce Hall, and all the bldg on the south end...
Only thing that's awful is what they did to the Sculpture Garden...no Lilies of the Nile with Jacaranda Trees sprinkling lavender flowers everywhere from over your head to the green grass. It was so beautiful--breathtaking, mystical, meditative. Now, it's an open lawn like a parking lot designer created it.

I went to UCLA, this video appears to have been taken on a weekend, i can tell by the lack of actual students walking around, or it was taken late on a Friday afternoon, but it's certainly not a regular weekday during heavy traffic hours. And btw, UCLA is now ranked ahead of Berkeley.

Alex, here's a tip: When you write your essay, don't say what a UCLA education can do for YOU, but rather, tell them what you can do with a UCLA education for the betterment of society. I wrote how i wanted to help single, homeless mothers off the street. They let me in with inferior grades over guys with perfect SAT scores. I know it had to be a deciding factor. They've outright denied entrance to guys who made their essays all about themselves. I came to the conclusion many years later that they don't like selfish-sounding essays and i can cite an example but that isn't necessary now.

I’m going for a 33 on ACT and my gpa is a 3.46 (I can bump it up to a 3.6)
I’m going to try doing a lot of extra curricular activities that r related to business and hopefully I can land a internship(🤞🤞🤞)
And when u said ur gpa was low do u mean like 3.7 range or lower

Hello, I went to the UCLA a few tears ago to see a girl that was in school there ( Kathy Young ) I meet her on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. I never got a chance to see her, I got put out of the place by the Dean....from John in North Carolina.

I studied engineering there starting in 1980. I found the school was T tough academically, even the so-called Mic (mickey mouse) classes were competitive. As it is even harder to get in now, I can only guess that it is even harder these days. So yes, it is a beautiful campus set in a nice area (Westwood/Santa Monica) but I think a lot of students like myself spend time worrying abut their classes (same is true of MIT according to people I know who went there).

人间最重要的是人的了不起的言行、表现和作为，建筑是其一，就大学来说，教学质量如何、科研如何永远是第一位的，也许校办工厂或校办公司如何也是重要的评价因素。大学就是培养人才的地方，教书育人搞的如何才最为重要。
我总感到洋人在审美观方面比较强，比较擅长维护与使用，多大很破旧的建筑被洋人维护的看上去挺耐看、心里挺好受、也很出活，多伦多的洋人喜欢在建筑外观上折腾来折腾去，在大街上时常碰到某个建筑面前被封闭，洋人在搞改造呢，改造的更好看。
华人一般不喜欢弄这个，建筑建好之后外面就那样了，洋人喜欢折腾来折腾去。
国内的人到了多伦多若感觉有些建筑挺耐看，那不知道洋人折腾多少遍了呢。

The thing that amazes me the most when I see the campus is all the wonderful trees. What are these trees? Are they all indigenous to this part of California? It’s not too hot for the conifers?

They're apparently not all locally indigenous -- apparently many of them are from around the world, but many of the trees around Janss steps I believe are, because they might have built around them. Here's a RUclips with a link to an emeritus professor who became the campus botanist:
