- Malaysia's anti-graft agency has confirmed former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad is being investigated in connection with a probe involving his sons. Both his sons have been served notices to declare their wealth as part of ongoing inquiries into offshore financial and business records. The probe comes amid a widening crackdown on graft involving prominent political figures. This includes those seen as allied to the 98-year-old former leader himself. Melissa Goh reports from Penang.

Not Only Pandora papers can work on Malaysia, but the world as a whole as well. . Many countries heads were under scrutiny and some roped in for justice. Now under Madani Government era’s, ( never before ) MACC is taking full charge of the country’s affairs in previous governments, in missed using power, money laundering, bribery and corruption hideouts etc , opening files for crimes investigations. Those old politicians, who were too long in power, had been called up for investigations in their respective wealth , unreported assets for which there supposedly declared.
Thanks for the Pandora Papers reports , which highlighted keys for the most important documents that were made investigating works much earlier.

Do you remember why the fallout between Mahathir and DSAI? In 1998, after the Malaysian economic collapse, DSAI was the Dy PM and Finance minister.
Mahathir and DSAI were sorting out the financial hand-out to all those who were affected. When coming to Mahathir's children, he asked for more hand-outs than others. DSAI as finance minister, refused to accede to his demands. There started the fundamental differences and animosity. Mahathir felt slighted and started his crusade of vengeance and the rest is history.
