Do rollers move only along those black material strips? Or they can go wider (to massage the shoulders for example)? I wonder why this model has those stripes, typically they just have this 'leather' covering the whole area..
How do I get the chair to speak English and understand English in voice commands? I have it set to English in settings but it still only speaks in mandarin and doesn’t understand any commands I give it in English.
After message session by using auto modes are done, the foot rest is not go down! Power ON then OFF again then the foot rest will go down. I don't know why.
There are rollers that come out and grip the back of my ankles and it's quite painful. I cannot figure out how to decrease the intensity of those rollers no matter what I do. There is no way to "turn them off" either. Also, how do you even use the voice commands? I have it turned "on" and in "English". So, do I need to say a certain phrase? How does that work?
With glute intensity… I tested it today, noticed it dug into my left cheek at one point and now it’s hurting a bit. I like everything else about the massage except that. Is it possible to lower that intensity while keeping the other areas strong or not?
No, it’s not possible to just adjust just the glute intensity. It’s all or nothing. Did you try hitting the “4D” button while using it? That will adjust the intensity a bit during the auto programs. If you set it to the lowest setting (1 of 5) it’ll likely be a lot better but it does adjust the entire massage, not just the glutes. One thing I will say is that i found it very intense the first week or so and my body has adjusted to the point where I don’t feel it’s nearly as intense as it was at the beginning. I’ve read that’s fairly common with massage chairs.
Great video! Does the airbags on the arms suppose to compress on both left and right together simultaneously? Mine for some reason compress on one arm and decompresses and then switch to the other arm. Is this a defect or is it suppose to be this way? Thank you
Did yours come with a manual? Ours did not and we can’t figure some of the stuff out. The voice is in Japanese and we don’t know how to change it. Also we can’t figure out how to lower the intensity. It always over rides back to “insane.” When we tried it at Costco, the pressure was perfect. Pretty frustrated at this point.
Hi James - the manual is on their website (link here: www.osakimassagechair.com/uploads/1/0/6/8/106848587/os-4d_encore_manual.pdf ). You can adjust the language by hitting the menu button then choosing settings (last option) then language (second option) then choose EN. See 9:29 seconds in my video As far as the intensity goes, it's a pretty intense chair overall. If you go into the auto programs you can hit the "4D" button while the auto program is running and you'll notice the intensity adjust in the progress bar (see my video around 6:32 ). I find it helps a bit but it's still pretty intense overall. Also, depends on the auto program you select. Try "Rest and Sleep". On the Manual mode you can adjust the intensity by using the 4D button and that helps a lot. Hope it works for you! Some of their other more expensive chairs (like the Maestro LE) allow you to make more intensity adjustments during the auto programs. This one does allow for it but it's most effective in manual mode in my experience. You do get pretty used to the intensity after the first week or two though. :)
Hi - It does massage both the forearm and your hands (more of the palm area). It has an airbag that compresses and your palm goes over a textured ball so it feels nice when the air pressure pushes it into your palm and it also compresses your forearm. As a point of comparison, I've also tried the Maestro LE's massage (their top end chair) and it's better but Encore isn't bad. The difference is the Maestro LE has two independent airbags (one for your forearm and one for your hand) and the pressure of the airbags is higher on the Maestro vs. the Encore.
Most likely. I’m 5’ 10 and the footrest adjusted out with quite a bit of length left so I think he should be okay. You may want to double check with Osaki though (they’re located in Texas and are easy to get on the phone if you call)
Thanks for making this. It was super helpful!

how long have you had the chair and have you noticed any other problem other than the heating elements?

That’s normal. Generally alternates arms (not both at once).
Can this be disassembled to move it?
Not to my knowledge
Also, at 5:18 in the video, the handheld suddenly turns off, mine does the same, did yours do that often? Is this normal? Thank you
Yeah, happened on occasion. Don’t know why.

May I ask the two lines on the back and hip area, are their material cotton not letter ❤?
I mean leather
It’s not leather - it’s more of a cotton type material and where the rollers go
Thanks for making the review. I am considering buying this for my parents. Will this chair fit my Dad without bending his knee? He is 6 feet tall.

@@randomreviewvideos3330 thanks 🙏
This is an old chair and extremely aggressive. It’s discontinued due to a high defect.
