Fun fact: Jack says that AJR's favorite album is Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys. If you listen to their song Call My Dad, there are a few lyrics "I feel so broke up, I wanna go home . No, I feel so broke up, I wanna go home". Those are lyrics from The Beach Boys' song Sloop John B off their album Pet Sounds. The original lyrics are "Well I feel so broke up, I want to go home". AJR just added a few extra words.
@starstruck 04 (First of all I know I’m 7 months late) Second- I think he meant just Easter eggs and yeah I don’t think there’s any *in* karma but (you probably know this) it was in Turning out pt.ii
I got into AJR when Burn The House Down floated onto my music service as a gateway song, then was impressed that it was only three people, did more research and listened to the Click, got so confused by What Everyone's Thinking, I'm Ready, and Infinity, but figured it all out and kept on following them, constantly having dance parties in my room.
Jack: "It's really just a lame story, she slipped on ice." Me: *Pauses video* "where have I heard that before???"...... Spongebob: *wakes up in ambulance* "Oh Sandy what happened?" Sandy: "You ran inside and slipped on an ice cube." You're welcome for bringing this your attention.
Great group of guys who make great music. The interviewer did an incredible job too. He knew who he was in the room with, understood their music, and respected their contributions to music.
I was very 50/50 with The Click. I loved some of the songs and I couldn't care less about some of the others. I listened to all of Neotheater today and loved all of it.

I think the ending to turning out is a metaphor for thinking your so in love you would dye for someone and realizing they’re not and your growing up. Or “turning out” until your next phase of life but you hold onto the good memories from your past
@@deevinay idk, I think it's for the lyrics of their songs. It's a really stupid reason, like yes, their lyrics might not be the best, but their beats sure as hell are. They really don't deserve this much hate man
BenignoStar Huh. I didnt know anybody had a problem with them at all! I think it’s because their lyrics are very straightforward, (as opposed to being poetic and cryptic) and people seem to think thats better. Idk i think their lyrics are just fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (Also, thanks for the quick reply!)
@@deevinay yeah, I find nothing wrong with their lyrics as well. I really like them and they've made so many good songs I cant stop listening to. It's really unfortunate people hate them so much, like there was this guy who showed them no mercy and destroyed them completely. I really feel bad for AJR.

I just like the existential stuff and beats. The music resonates with things I've dealt with and are currently dealing with. It helps me have something to hum or sing so I can dissect my life's problems and think of them in new ways. the only thing I find weird is the younger kids who like AJR and I can't relate to any of them because I'm 20 turning 21, going to college and have been living on my own as a legal adult while a lot of the fans I see are just kids in school with a lot of problems. I think I could kind of relate but my generational background has different ideals and I've had to be an actual adult so I can't relate to home life is bad stuff but this song make me feel better. with new thing my rule is love the thing but stay away from fans.
Also the fact that you guys love fountains of wayne... And saying go listen to more than just Stacey's mom... Ugh thanks God someone agree! I've been saying that for years

I get that you didn't like it but I feel you can get more constructive with your comment, why do you think it sucks? (I haven't heard it yet but the interviews are fantastic in my opinion, I'm really looking forward to listening to it)
Choly Celestino Well you’re right, I should said what I didn’t like about it. So first things first the lyrical content makes me cringe. A lot of the songs are very “fake deep” and you can tell. The “issues” they sing about sound like they didn’t even go through them, and they just heard about them or saw it in a movie. They don’t seem to mature with their sound, and even their last album had this problem. Lyrics such as “if Ed Sheehan wrote my song it’d finally top the charts.” Most of the times it sounds like they’re complaining. Their lyrics are not genuine and they are very cringe inducing. And now the instrumentals. Quirky instrumentals they use are NOT my thing, and all the trumpet sounds and electronic drums just crawl in my skin. There is nothing fun about the instrumentals to me, and they are a pain to listen to. Now combine those cringe inducing and non- genuine lyrics with mediocre singing and unlistenable instrumentals and you get the mess that is neotheater. Now again, this is all my opinion. Thank you :)
