Great information and presentation Rakesh Bro. I was in 12th standard when this was released. I became literally crazy about the songs and the movie itself. Those days watching movie was very difficult for me, but I managed to watch many times. Even today I enjoy all songs and also I get Goosebumps whenever I listen to the beginning music(instrumental) of Medley competition songs and Bachna ye hasinon song. As RDB did not give money to Filmfare he did not get Filmfare best music director award which he was highly deserving. I observed one more thing that RDB always gave best music to Nasir Husain movies. You have covered top 3 movies of 1977 before putting the final episode of 1977 movies . बेहद लाजवाब episode.....👌👌👌👌 फ़िल्म का निर्देशन या फ़िल्म इतनी भी साधारण नहीं थी राकेश जी ! कुछ-एक बचकाने scenes को छोड़ कर, मुझे ये फ़िल्म अच्छी लगती है ! इस फ़िल्म का music album उस साल का सबसे बेहतरीन एल्बम कहा जा सकता है, जो कि आज भी सुनने में उतना ही fresh लगता है ! competetion song कमाल का है ! मगर ये भी सच है, कि RD ने चार बेहतरीन धुनें इसके लिए waste कर दीं, जिन पर चार मुकम्मल लाजवाब गाने बन सकते थे ! इस फ़िल्म की कव्वाली में extra कव्वाल में बैठे एक और 'तारिक' (तारिक शाह) की झलक देखने को मिलती है, जो कि बाद के समय में अभिनेता-निर्देशक (फ़िल्म-बहार आने तक) के तौर पर जाने गए और जो अभिनेत्री सोमा आनंद के पति थे !

Bachna e haseeno is the most famous song of this film. The qawaali hai agar dushman dushman is still popular. Other songs also aged well like chand mera dil, humko to yara teri yaari, yeh ladka hai allah, etc are still popular. Aaj ke gaane us zamaane ke copy hote hue bhi unke aage kuch bhi nahin hai. Aaj ke gaane jaise ki woh behsaram rang ka aapne example diya us me to bas vulgarity hi thi. Us daur ke gaano se koi muqabla ho hi nahin sakta. Rishi Kapoor and Zeenat aman had interesting chemistry since it was very unusual pairing. The other 2 leads tariq khan and kajal kiran were not hero and heroine material hense they didn't get more films. Very well narrated rakesh bhai!!

Actually Nasir Hussain had already done this type of singing competition scene in his 1959 movie Dil deke dekho where there is singing competition between shammi kapoor and Asha parekh in a picnic scene , songs like megha re bhole jhanan jhanan and bade hain dil ke kaale etc. Are played back to back. You can check it. Singers are Rafi sahab and Asha Bhosle.

Mohd.Rafi, R.D.Burman, Asha Bhosle aur Kishor da ka geet sabse achchha tha lekin quawali ne film me jaan dal di. solo geet...kya hua tera vada...ke liye Rafi sahab ko best playback singer ka award mila. film Sargam ke geet...humto chale pardesh...ke liye ye award nahi mila. sur, taal aur awaj ki varaiti me ye geet vajandaar tha. pata nahi award dene walo ka kya maandund hai ?
