    i watch a lot of his highlights and its absurd how often he goes unblocked. Hes the most famous defender in the league and he regularly gets free rushes and chases stuff from behind. His speed is insane and lets him abuse college talent because he can simply run around you. I wonder how he will pan out at the next level when he will have to hand fight and hold the line on runs.

    • @brandonb286

    • @cojackshotty6848
      @cojackshotty6848 Год назад +2

      That’s a pretty bad take. I’m assuming you’re referring to all of the plays where he chased down players from behind, that just shows his football IQ to diagnose pulling plays and get to the point of attack. Another one he didn’t get touched on is because he evaded a pulling TE. It also shows his range as a pass rusher, showing him pushing through LT’s to get to the QB as well as the speed to get around slower LT’s.

      I'm not so sure about that. I counted 3 plays where he was unblocked due to a blitz, missed assignment, etc. Even on those plays he showed insane athleticism in making the play. I particularly liked the play against Texas where he made the tackle from the backside. His bend down the line and speed appeared to be outstanding. Every other play he flat out beat his blocker with technique and speed. Not sure he'll be able to get away with that against professional OTs, but he clearly has superior skills. He'd be a good fit as a rush OLB rather than a traditional 4-3 DE, though I think with some time he could do both.

    I’m not trying to hate or throw shade! This is the only video I’ve seen on this guy, he’s got great quickness and smarts especially on that read option play at 2:20. The other highlights were either poor blocking or absolutely no blocking. I see a weal coached defense with extreme talent and schematically using each player well in Alabama. That play were the WR/TE, I’m not sure but he had a tough time shedding that block and it wasn’t even a crack back. #18 looked more of a WR than a TE and from what I saw from this video is a talented guy but no way a top #5 pick! If I had to judge only by this video… I’ll watch more because he is talented and and showed IQ.

    • @karticid4124
      @karticid4124 Год назад

      That would be retarded. He is NOT a better defensive prospect than jalen carter and it’s not close. And the fact that there’s a 60%-70% chance jalen carter FALLS to us at 6 is too good to even dream. Why would we give up draft capital for a player that’s not better or even a bigger need than the one we can get @ 6

    • @karticid4124

      But what I would not mind doing at ALL is trading up for Devon Witherspoon give them the 18th pick and a 2nd rounder? We’d be superbowl bound

      It's hard go be as productive as last year when you get double teamed alot and got the running back on his side. His production is done from his Sophomore season but when you tag teamed most the night that is gonna happen

    • @sprinkle581
      @sprinkle581 Год назад

      These are highlights, there are obviously going to be plays where he wasn't blocked well. His speed off the snap is the impressive thing there.
      There are tons of times in football, every single game, where a guy is let through. That's what creative, multiple-type fronts aim to get done. Most guys who get through don't explode in pursuit like Anderson does.

    Can't really determine much from this vid ... completely unblocked for half of it and the other half was against dirt slow OT's who will never see an NFL playing field. That's the thing with college stats ... you have to take them with a grain of salt because they could wind up being completely meaningless with regards to pro projection. How many 1st or 2nd day OT prospects did he face or do good against? I don't care that pushed a future insurance agent into the backfield for a sack.
