i watch a lot of his highlights and its absurd how often he goes unblocked. Hes the most famous defender in the league and he regularly gets free rushes and chases stuff from behind. His speed is insane and lets him abuse college talent because he can simply run around you. I wonder how he will pan out at the next level when he will have to hand fight and hold the line on runs.
That’s a pretty bad take. I’m assuming you’re referring to all of the plays where he chased down players from behind, that just shows his football IQ to diagnose pulling plays and get to the point of attack. Another one he didn’t get touched on is because he evaded a pulling TE. It also shows his range as a pass rusher, showing him pushing through LT’s to get to the QB as well as the speed to get around slower LT’s.
I'm not so sure about that. I counted 3 plays where he was unblocked due to a blitz, missed assignment, etc. Even on those plays he showed insane athleticism in making the play. I particularly liked the play against Texas where he made the tackle from the backside. His bend down the line and speed appeared to be outstanding. Every other play he flat out beat his blocker with technique and speed. Not sure he'll be able to get away with that against professional OTs, but he clearly has superior skills. I love me some Anderson Jr. To the people who say this season wasnt a good year for him is wrong, yes it wasnt as good as the year before but when you get double teamed most of the time in clutch 3 and long downs, your sack numbers are gonna go down.
