- Andy is a drummer, producer and educator. He has toured the world with rock legend Robert Plant and played on classic prog albums by Frost and IQ.
As a drum clinician he has played with Terry Bozzio, Kenny Aronoff, Thomas Lang, Marco Minneman and Mike Portnoy.
He also teaches drums privately and at Kidderminster College Видеоклипы
Probably the band with the most universal appeal thru so many parts of the world
Angus Young - a guitar teacher once called him “The B.B. King of Heavy Metal”
Discovered them around the same time and age. My favourite band. Thank yo.
I couldn’t agree more. I’m three years older but found them at the release of If You Want Blood. Then bought all I could find.
Favorite Bon era - Powerage
Favorite Brian era - Flick Of The Switch
Great channel !
Thanks for this. Not quite enough attention given to Bon's voice. IMHO a big reason why those albums are so great.
Got to love Ride On from the early days.
I always thought while AC/DC wasn't the first rock'n'roll band, nor the last, but they were the most pure yet fully realized version of their form. The subtleties in those riffs interplaying with the drums, really are so creative. For a band criticized for playing more and more of "same old", I can name off the song from any of those first 8 or 10 albums in about 5 seconds. To me its the most fully realized form of American rock n 'roll, be damned with the Scottish and Austrailan roots. There's no beatles stones or even yardbirds cream or zeppelin here. Dare I say--- free from the Andy's English aesthetic?!?
Great band
Bon played recorder and bag pipes!
The verse on back in black sounds great as Angus and Malcolm play power chords but the bass player adds the thirds to create a combination of power and harmony.
Huge AC/DC Follower since 76 (seen em 48 times and met all the band regularly in those early days) when I bought High Voltage & Dirty Deeds, Agree From Let There be Rock to Back in Black, their best years 77 - 80 also agree on Touch Too Much in my Top 7 AC/DC Songs , But Let There Be Rock is Their Most Fiercest and Title Track plus Whole Lotta Rosie, Overdose, Bad Boy Boogie that album is IMHO The Greatest Rock Album of All Time closely followed by Powerage , Great Review , and yeah after FTATR They did slide away , but How could they follow up Those Epic Albums , They Were Blueprint Rock 👌💯🔥🎸🎸😈
For me, it has to be the live version of LTBR. It just explodes out of the speakers, with an almost impossible level of energy, which never flags for even a second.
Nice one, Andy.
Agreed. Bon Scot is just singing out the history of rock as if it was god himself conjuring up the world ☺️
@@LR-oo8hq Beautifully put!
Rockschool reunion with jack black what did they play... its a long way to the top.... of course:)
One of the last that included the blues.
Yes they are. Metallica and Iron Maiden are my favourite bands of all time, but AC/DC is the greatest one.
They are absolutely perfect
Personally, I think 1990's The Razor's Edge is a fantastic album and was kind of like a second comeback for them, but to each his own, great video man
“Flick of the Switch” and “Razor’s Edge” are great AC/DC records post-For Those About to Rock. I do agree that those earlier records are damned near perfect.
Agree. Bon Scott was one of the greatest personality in rock-music, if not the greatest to date. Singer, songwriter, frontman, he had literal it all. Just the image above all. Not to take any away from Jagger, Mercury, Plant, and so on. Bon was just something special.
Bon was unique! And also he had to make his mark against Angus who is also one of the greatest frontmen ever
Girls got rythm is my favourite
Really funky in a way
Good analysis. I think AC/DC's sound did comeout fully formed, unlike, say Iron Maiden or Motorhead.
Very cool vid Andy. Angus was the reason I picked up a guitar. I also have developed into a prog head but always come back to that AC/DC sound from time to time. Shoot to thrill for me. Its a juggernaut of a track, and Angus just goes into beast mode.
Oh I'd also like to add: Gone shootin' and What's next to the moon. Powerage is their best album for me.
@@unityproject2279 For me it's Highway to Hell
Bon Scot was the soul of AC/DC, he was a poet, a Scot mischievous poet of rock
So what’s your favourite Grand Funk Railroad song?
I have never ever listened to that band
One of the forgotten bands. Those guys went from selling out stadiums during the early 70’s to rarely being mentioned. They have an interesting catalog of music, and hits that have you saying “oh yeah, I remember that song” when you hear them. A few years ago I saw them play live, and unexpectedly I really enjoyed them. They still played great. I think one or two members have sadly passed away since I saw them.
For me the First 3 ACDC albums are easily the best, High Voltage/TNT/Dirty deeds. I always thought the Australian producers were the best and the band was at its dirtiest and most punk. When Bon Scott dressed like a school girl and they did baby please don't go it was so funny but great. I liked mostly everything up until back in black but not as much. I think thats a good album but nothing more. After that its take it or leave it for me. I never disliked them
Earlier ones incredible swing. Their records spot on from first song!
beating around the bush + riff raff (:
Both classic AC/DC tunes! Beating Around The Bush is very similar to Oh Well by Fleetwod Mac....
Back in black is their last great album .. love the Bon Scott era
I would probably say For Those About to Rock....
@@AndyEdwardsDrummer I feel Flick Of The Switch was strong as well.
I have always found AC/DC, post Bon Scott, too stolid and less playful. The playing has remained impeccable and there have been great songs released but without Scott they have become of less interest to me.
Brian was genius on Back in Black and great on For Those About to Rock then it all losed it's momentum and relevance for me....
Sorry - maybe Back in Black which can be used in drum lessons to show 16 parts grouped in 3rds.
But personally, I can't stand AC/DC, and experience it as "primitive" noisy music, where neither the singer nor the drummer moves a shit, in my opinion :D
Greatest rock band? Acdc is a funny way of spelling The Who... is it the Welsh version? 🤣
